Munroe? A souce close to Munroe who posts on another forum reckons he is set to fight Maludrottu next. I would prefer the Poonsawat fight for Dunne, I wouldn't waste a training camp on the binman if I were Dunne.
Hey I never said one way or another :deal I really don't mind saying stuff or letting stuff be known once the word has gone around town. Its when barely anyone knows (so who spills the info is easier to work out) thats when I'm not overly keen on saying much. Put it this way, if I said too much, too early it could be the last time I ever got any info worth having! Anyway, regarding Munroe. It's not rocket science. Maladrottu is his mandatory right. However, look at these bits of info. The purse bid for the Munroe/Maladrottu fight was postponed. Munroe then filed for a date in September against a voluntary challenger. This is even though there is no one in Europe left worth fighting bar Maladrottu. So Munroe puts off the Maladrottu fight (the biggest fight on European level available) and pencils himself in for a fight in September against an opponent still TBC, even though there isn't another decent EBU opponent out there. If you were cynical you might say Munroe put Maladrottu on the long finger as a fall back plan. Scheduled a date for a voluntary in September with the EBU just to keep them happy. He never named an opponent because all the while he never really wanted an EBU voluntary against another no mark. Instead he was hoping that something might be worked out with a rival promoter (and very much behind the scenes) with whom his boys have been publicly falling out with. Now if that bigger fight falls through then he goes ahead and names some EuroBum (or even moves up the Maladrottu clash) for a voluntary and saves face. Sound plausible at all to anyone?
This friend of Munroe's reckons he wants to fight Nishioka for the WBC title cos to him Dunne is just a paper champ and Rendall wants a real title!
Yeah yeah. Thats why Maloney was desperate to get Dunne to fight Munroe once he beat Cordoba. Like I said, front of stage, things are very bad between Dunne (Peters) and Munroe (Maloney). However, this is boxing and as we all know a lot of stuff goes on behind the scenes. All Munroes talk is a load of old bollocks. I do hope he gets Nishioka, though, because he'll (and I'll quote a mate of mine here who has seen a fair bit of Nshioka because he lives out in that part of the world) 'get the ****ing head clattered off him'
Here look I doesn't bother me if people aren't too keen to believe me kane. All I'll say is that the boys on here know I don't open my gob if I don't actually believe I have good solid info in the first place. All I'll say is have a look at the theory (or whatever you want to call it) that I have posted about Munroe and recent events. Does it look that hard to believe? Anyway, if the Poonswat fight is the one that gets made don't expect Peters or Maloney to mention they ever went into negotiations though!
I believe you, just wondering why the souce close to Munroe was trying to convince me that the Dunne/Munroe fight was not going to happen. I've been reading this thread for months so I know you have good inside info. :good
18th? I think is what I was told. Don't quote me on that though because its probably a Tuesday or something :nut but I'm nearly sure I was told that was the date. Thats subject to change, though, because my mate who works at the Point told me there is **** all penciled in for September up there so Peters basically has his pick of weekends
and he'd get to do it in Japan too, which is nice in a way as I suppose he'd at least get a holiday out of it. Poonsawat would be a tough fight for Dunne, but if he comes through that and with 3/4 of the big names at Super-Bantamweight moving up everything is open too him. He wouldn't gain much exposure in America but it'd be a massive fight all the same.
