You gotta take your hat off to Hennessay, he will put his hand in his pocket to make sure his man gets home support. But Macklin should be to strong for Barker.:deal
i think so too.ive decide to leave off the hyland card and start a kitty for a weekend away for this one
I know what you mean. Its hard going everywhere. When Dunne and Rogan announce dates for there upcoming fights in Dublin and Belfast I plan to be at both. Staying the night in Hotels, and having a night out after the fight all adds up. I still plan to go the Hyland show, but I will drive home to Dundalk after the fight. That will save me a few pennies.:yep
ya im going to have to start saving cos it looks like rogie and dunne will be september as well.hectic month
Title shot carrot for Hyland 09 July 2009 - By Mark Doyle Patrick Hyland could be one victory away from a world title shot. The undefeated Dubliner, 16-0, will meet Hevinson Herrera for the vacant IBF International featherweight title at the National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on July 25. Should Hyland emerge victorious in his eagerly-awaited bout with the Columbian, he is, according to his reprensentatives at Golden Cobra Management, likely to be matched with the IBFs outright champion, Cristobal Cruz, provided the Mexican comes through his title defence against Jorge Solis on Saturday. Golden Cobra enjoy a close working relationship with Worldwide International, who are based in Philadelphia, which, conveniently enough, is also home to Cruzs management team, Banner Promotions. As a result, Golden Cobra are confident of tempting Cruz into a title defence against Hyland in Ireland before the end of the year. However, all of that depends on Hyland extending his winning streak in his native Tallaght on Saturday week
i dont agree with hyland getting a title shot against cruz at all. if he beats herrera (which i think he will) he has still not faced anyone near world level. martin lindsay is much more deserving and he still hasnt done enough to get one imo.
stil i wont be complaining if a fellow Dub gets a shot !! he's still young and could work his way to another title shot if he gets beat , anyway i watched a bit of cruz on youtube and i think he is going to lose any day now , he is a bad champion
Hey if he wins (which isn't anywhere near as sure fire as people seem to think) and he can get a shot then why not go for it. I'd agree he wouldn't have fought many high class opponents but turning down world title shots isn't something people do lightly. I do think Cruz would have too much for him, way too much in fact, but this is boxing and sometimes you just never know what can happen on a given night.
i totally agree to go for it but the point i am trying to make is that he doesnt deserve it because he has not fought anyone of note..
