BamBam I agree the O2 is in the ideal location for fight fans. I know Dunne has had most of his biggest fights there. If he were to fight in the Citywest it would be litterary in his backyard being from Clondalkin so I can see why he would want to fight there. I hope it is in the O2 as with that atmosphere it would be hard tp get anyway near that in the Citywest.
hey paddy i heard Katie Taylor wanted to fight on the Hyland card after working with Pat Ryan in last international did you hear anything or why she didn,t
city west holds 5000 additional seating can be brought in to bring tierd seating to 7500 and apparently they should be able to fight another 2500 on the floor! as i said its only a rumour but a very interesting one!
She had to do a training camp! one would think this intense training camp would be held in siberia or prehaps somewhere else in eastern europe. but not he training camp was in the national stadium........... Boxing polotics........... what a shame
100% agreed! stick to the winning formula although i wouldnt mind an openair stadium fight next summer........ :smoke
Lindsay offered world title shot 04 July 2009 - Press Release Martin Lindsay could be crowned champion of the World before the end of the year, after Banner Promotions Irish agent Tommy Egan was authorized to offer the Belfast fighter a shot at IBF Featherweight World Champion Cristóbal Cruz. Former Irish amateur champion and current British Featherweight champion, Lindsay (15-0) could upgrade his British strap for a world belt if he accepts the offer and takes on Cruz (50-37-11) in Mexico this coming November. Egan had previously, on behalf of Banner Promotions, offered the winner of Lindsay and Paul Applebys British title decider a shot at Cruzs world crown, an offer which has this week been confirmed by Banner Promotions. The dotted line has yet to be signed and negotiations are at an early stage, but Egan, who has recommended Lindsay to Banner President Art Pelullo and has been in contact with Lindsays manager John Rooney, confirmed the offer is concrete and that Banner Promotions are very eager to make the fight. Egan commented: "I have been authorized by Art Pelullo President of Banner Promotions to offer Martin Lindsay a shot at IBF featherweight world champion Cristóbal Cruz. The fight would take place in Mexico in November. "The mouth-watering clash is subject to agreement but the offer is genuine and concrete. Banner Promotions are ready to get this fight on. "Martin is terrific box fighter. He is very clever and poses a deadly left hook. He has a punchers chance of beating anybody. In fact, he could be the best finisher in the featherweight division. Martin is ranked number six in the world by the IBF and is the only European in the top 10. Now Banner Promotions have offered him the chance to become number one in the world. "This has the makings of a fantastic fight and it excites me to say we could have another Irish World Champion by the end of the year," he added.
