This is an Irish boxing thread, not a Northern Ireland soccer thread.

We support Northern Irish boxers, yes, but when it comes to soccer we support our own national team the Republic of Ireland.

Also "its all the same thing" will rattle many cages, some posters here are from the North and others from the Republic - that statement won't go down well.

So if your in the WC and Ireland gets eliminated and N Ireland are still in you still won't support them?

And it is the same thing. Your both all Irish, just one from a different type of Ireland than the other. ^-^

Anyways you guys should beat Cyprus easy. Cyprus can pull off a upset draw or even win... Cyprus are not that great but they are a pretty decent home team. They beat Serbia home 2-0, and the Serbs are pretty tight imo.

Nor can I. Haven't been able to catch any of the fights since yesterday morning.

I press play, it buffers for 2 seconds then goes back to the play screen. ****ing **** website

I personally would support NI, but that's not the case with everyone. Not being Irish, you couldn't understand the historical significance. Some people in this thread (including myself) want to see Sam Sexton get his head smashed in for stirring trouble in the North. Its still very unsteady up there and its not right to say we are "all the same".

Lads, did you read this week's Boxing News, there is a letter in it from Laura Breen (John's missus), she basically was saying that, although John has wished Rogie well and accepted his reason, she is not happy with it. She also confirmed that Rogie had a fall out with Magee.....
