That is what I thought, but was confused when I read the article in the Irish News.... http://www.irishnews.com/articles/597/556/2009/9/24/628384_394866450457Dunneread.html
Poonsawat belittles Dunnes win over cordoba check the link below: he wasnt too disrespectful saying it- but they kept pointing to the punch in the 11th? saying Cordoba feel rather than been sparked???? Have to say he seems a nice lad but still hope Dunne does him and gets the credit he deserves http://www.eastsideboxing.com/news.php?p=21292&more=1
According to Paddy, who just texted, Ponsawat is a lot taller than the little whippet we thought he was, and that Michael Sweeney looks in good shape - I'll have to see that with my own eyes. Spike O'Sullivan and myself are going to put a wager of €100 on. He thinks Sweeney has enough, and that he has trained well and is well up for it, but I reckon this is Jamie's ticket to the big time and he's hyped up like a Dervish for a scrap. If Jamie gets him in the trenches, he'll win in a war. Dunno if Sweeney has the appetite to go to hell and back. Anyone else have an opinion?
Just saw this on Boxrec: What should we make of it? Could the Thai be drained? "Bernard Dunne and his mandatory challenger, Poonsawat of Thailand, have both made the weight ahead of Saturday's World title fight at the O2. Dunne successfully weighed-in under the 122 pounds limit at his first attempt while the challenger was marginally heavier and had to step onto the scales three times before he was given the all-clear."
Cheers Podge. We need Paddy to stop fluting about at the presser and get himself back on here :good Whats Poonsawat meant to be ? 5"3 and Dunne is meant to be 5"7. I'm not that tallest myself but I'm noticably taller than Bernard so I'd so he's closer to 5"6 than 5"7. Does anybody have the registered height and reach for the pair? I've never seen Dunne's reach listed. Even on my DVD's of when he was fighting on tv in the states I haven't found it listed
I have only seen Sweeney box so I am in no position to give a proper prediction. But I will say that what I have seen of Sweeney hasn't particularly impressed me, that coupled with his apparently bad training methods leads to think that a committed and purposeful Power has to have more than a fair chance to win this encounter.
On the RTE website Watch Bernard Dunne v Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym on Saturday from 9.30pm on Pro Box Live, available on RTÉ Two and worldwide on RTÉ.ie. Bernard Dunne and Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym have both made the weight for their Super-Bantamweight World title fight at the O2 on Saturday night, with the Thai boxer coming in right on the 122lbs limit. Dunne, meanwhile tipped the scales at 121lbs and 8 ounces. Poonsawat took four attempts before officials were satisfied that he was inside the limit. Dunne confidently kept inside 122lbs figure, as he faces arguably a tougher match than the epic battle with Ricardo Cordoba that saw the Neilstown man claim the belt last March. Tyson Fury's Irish debut against Ukraine's Oleg Maschek is the highlight of the undercard. Fury kept the crowd waiting as he was present at the birth of his first daughter in Manchester this morning. Fresh from a win over John McDermott, he weighed in at 18 and a half stone.
im in section F row 20 cant remember wat seat number tho 150 something Got an email from ticketmaster about the fight yesterday and it says ''Please Note > > Alcohol will not be served to anyone under the age of 21 years, > appreciate identification will be required.'' Kind sucks for me nd da mate wer both 20 :fire u lads think they will stick to this?
Its a hell of a lot different to the old lay out. Its really good and the view is great from everywhere. in response to Lucatoni I'm dpwn the front of block B. I got them specifically because they are on the angle diagonal to the ringposts. Don't know why I prefer watching from this view but I do. The Bernard time is the only one confirmed yet. And I would be surprised is that changed. The lad working at the Point said theres still a lot of organising going on for the bigger support fights (Fury, Hyland, Power) and they haven't decided those slots yet. Anyway, the 11 pm start time is what they want to get Bernard on at. So, allowing for a bit of leeway, I'd say the first bell should be around 11.15
Depends how old you look. If you're a fresh faced young whipper snapper they might ask you for ID. If you look anywhere near the required age I'd said they won't bother
Ye thats what i was thinking nd they didnt ask me last time so unless this is a new rule change i should b alrite
