there was a lot of pessure on him last night...he was over hyped...as you say he needs to get back on his horse...the sooner the better...the more you dwell on these things the worse you get.

we have to be brutally honest, the previous performances of both of them deserve absolutly no plaudits considering the accusations made in the media prior to both fights.i know that they are two very humble lads with an insane love of boxing and im 100% sure that both boxers can come back stronger than before,i think both just caught up in a match they werent expecting.

we have to say duddy is further ahead in his career, duddy needs 2 more fights then he is ready for his shot, and holding a 24-0 record it says alot, people call duddy a limited fighter,i dont see this as the case, its just his heart gets in the way all too often,he needs to fight with his head because he has the jab,the speed and the chin (that is his defence lol), we dont quite know if these tools are world class yet but im very sure they'd be competitive.

lee is nothing more than a prospect after last nights perrformance and needs a complete rebuilding process,i dont doubt that he has world class skills for a second but if he continues to fight like he did last night ill be the only one who doesnt doubt it.

duddy is about a year ahead of lee at the minute and needs fights and lots of them,he has no 0 to protect anymore so lets just hope that in 2 years time we all can look back and say that the vera fight was nothing more than a learning curve.

Yeah guys i was workin a night shift last night was absolutely stunned to come in this morning and see this in front of me.....but it was evident from the falliga fight that he was easily hit.....i still cant believe it.....seen vera on the contender and hes no hot prospect.....i think maybe he ended up like duddy v smichet just didn show enough respect.....i wonder what everyone will take this now,coz andy lee had far overtaken duddy in the irish publics opinion as our top prospect.just hope andy can come back from this.

I for one would agree with that astute appraisal of both Duddy and Lee's careers at this present time. Steward was making it sound so convincing that Lee was the nice best thing, we all bought into it, we all wanted a piece of what Steward was preaching.Instead we all are eating humble pie today.

I don't know if you saw it, the play by play thread got long fast, but I mentioned I saw some 'taylorisms' in Andy Lee. Now I see you are posting about a low left and stamina. Sound familiar in Taylor/Pavlik 1? Also, going straight back and laying on the ropes. Your guy may not be with the best trainer for him.

I sent you a PM a few days ago. Take a look.

well its just evident what manny has been filling andy's head with..crap..he proclaimed after the mckay fight, and again after the falliga fight that he was in negotiations with bob arum for lee to match up with pavlik by the end of 2008....i mean why not keep andys head down, keep him workin hard and fightin lower ranked guys instead of distracting him with all this bull talk off fighting pavlik.....

its obvious andy was getting distracted by this although he said little about it himself.....even though hes young and will come back from this, its taken him a major stepback but i especially hope its knocked steward of his perch a little bit...he's as much 2 blame as andy for this mess in my opinion.

That's right, Steward was going into mega-spin over Lee, instead of concentrating on the basics, and bringing his pupil along steadily. A rematch against Vera in Ireland would be a great draw.

Interesting concept. He is signed to fight on two? Pavlik undercards. Next one is in Atlantic City though. So a fight in between with Pavlik going to Ireland for the next?

ok,so im just looking, although it might not mean much as i dont really much about the fighters he fought, but kelly pavlik didnt make the step up and start taking on fighters with winning records until his 25-27th fight,i dont know if this is significant but maybe it is important to consider that andy still has a lot to learn and can fight often.

To be honest I think Duddy or Macklin are the best we have to offer. It seems most of our boxers get beaten before they get become contenders. McCullough, Collins and Duddy are not really boxers but have made it so to speak.
