The word from Breens Gym is that Ajose Olsugan has made himself available for the contest. They are talking to him now. Olsugan is one tough hombre.

Also both venues [ Odyssey and Meadowbank] are expected to be full houses next week. More excellent news for Irish boxing.

I think 1 of the smaller promoters might be interested in doing a Prize-Fighter type as they wont lose their bollix and the boxers purses will be alot less for a 3 round fight than a 10 or 12 round fight...Here is my senario/Opinion.....

    Fighters:
    1. Robbie Long
    2. Anthony Fitzgerald
    3. Ciaran Healy
    4. Henry Coyle
    5. Willie Thompson
    6. Lee Murtagh
    7. Simon O`Donnell
    8. Spike O`Sullivan
    Money Talk:
    4 x Quarter Finalists - €2,500 Each = €10,000
    2 x Semi-Finalists - €4,000 Each = €8,000
    1 x Finalist - €7,000
    1 x Winner - €10,000 + Irish Title
    Total Boxers Purses = €35,000

I reckon it might be do-able for a smaller promoter at them prices

I agree Olusegan is a much harder fight that MBaye - sometime he blows hot and cold but I am sure he would definately be up for this one

So €30,000 on top of the €35,000 for Purses - Thats €65,000 so far without a venue and all the other costings....I reckon a Prize Fighter style show will cost in the reigon of Between €100,000 - €150,000 approx
Which is a big hole in someones pocket unless Sponsors get involved

Lads, i hate to burst your bubble but Sinclair has little or no chance against Rhodes. He is a fine boxer with good power but the man has no heart. When the going gets tough he folds and to think he can beat a fighter who went deep into the trenches with Jamie Moore is extremely optimistic. And when exactly was his last quality win?
    Rhodes ko5

The Jamie Moore that Rhodes beat was wrecked, out of breath at the beginning of round 6 - he wasnt i/2 the fighter that he was when he fought Macklin. Sinclair has been an enigma, blows hot and cold, but I genuinely believe that he means business this time. I listened to his interview with bunce in the Belfast show and he came across as a very single minded guy with a big point to prove.

He has a point to prove alright and i hope he proves me wrong.I just think he is not tough enough to beat the likes of Rhodes based on a win over Henry Coyle. When was his last quality win?

Last quality win is Bradley Price 2003 I suppose. My head tells me Sinky hasn't a chance but the heart is telling me he's just in with a sniff. Rhodes has done very well of late, though, and he is a tough customer indeed.

"tell her that you dont think she has what it takes to "handle your rod":lol::lol: "

I've regained my "composure" (always questionable) and pretty much given up the e- mail correspondence idea :D

However, since "Aine-gate" has culminated, I'll try to add something else:

Macklin, Duddy and Andy Lee all have facebook pages, if anyone 's interested.

Also here's a few you tube vids of some Celtic- blooded yanks...
