Macklin has looked better than Duddy as far as putting away his opponents.I think a good win over Campas will propel him to bigger and better things.I still think he will not be good enough to win a title but if Pavlik moves up to 168 the division will be wide open so who knows

I wish Macklin luck, Campas, no matter how old he may be, is a very tough and game fighter. He went into that Duddy fight with a hunger to win, he hadn't been that way in a few of his fights before that.

I hope Andy can see through this defeat, I mean it's only a boxing match. I thought he showed great skills in last nite's fight but he began to fade. I'm just throwing this to the wind, but I have a feeling Andy was beginning to try to be like Duddy half way through the fight. John Duddy is one of a kind, and if this were true than Andy had to find out the hard way.

Let's hope that Macklin doesn't get involved in any agreements or tie ups with Bob Arum. It seems that as soon as any of our guys do they end up putting in their worst ever performances.

Lee was fighting back at the time of stoppage and was not badly hurt IMO. Vera had more experience at the professional level and it showed through in this fight. He scored a huge upset over a heavily hyped opponent in Lee and deserves kudos for the excellent win. Lee needs to concentrate on improving his physical strength and get a more soild base underneath himself. Vera seemed to be really mahhandling Lee in close and Lee did not seem to be adept at clinching. The good news is that like Duddy and all Irish fighters - Lee showed a tremendous amount of heart and a soild chin in this fight. The ability is there Lee just needs to harness it more and probably incorporate some weight training for his upper and lower body to increase his strength.

Macklin TKO 9 Campas macklin is very good solid fighter with no obvious flaws. There should be highlights of the mike perez fight after the macklin fight so it should be good.

wow huge upset!! did not see the fight but was shocked and gutted to read tko 7. From what I hear its was a bad call etc but I thought like most people that vera was just a stepping stone. BUT! Andy will now go back to the drawing board and rebuild. He is still a magnificent talent. He has learned the hard way unfortunately but I for one back him to hold aloft a world title one day!!

I just watched the fight. Lee was taking some punishment but I think he was giving as good as he got. Pre mature stoppage, yes I agree but cant be dwelled upon. Lee learns from and avenges his first defeat if we see a rematch..

Hello Sardu, your right Lee didn't look strong at times, he was manhadled around the ring too easily. But let's hope he can correct the errors and return a better fighter.

Sorry Guys, I just didn't think the stoppage was premature. The Ref was handy and Lee had taken above average punishment. His corner could have considered throwing the towel in, instead of whinging about the result!
