I thought the lowest Lee has been was 159 when he lost to Vera?? To be honest, at 6"2 I'd say 160 is as fine as he can cut it. He doesn't make a habit of making 160 or under unless he has to.

158 3/4 according to boxrec is his lowest(when he lost to Vera and was possibly suffering from flu), he hasn't even made 160 since that fight so the thought of him making 154 is preposterous. It's not like he's got some spare flesh on him.

Lee could probably make 154 but only in the manner where he'd be so drained Yuri Foreman would take him out.

Brian Vera is definitely not better than John Duddy btw.

Magee would be a good test for Lee to see where he's at.Def.not a fight he could take for granted.

I hope you all have a good night tonight. Would of went but being on the dole I now have to limit myself to this sort of a show. Hoping to get a ticket to the Macklin fight so will have to give this a miss if I want to go to the fight. Being out of work is **** when it comes to boxing i would of liked to have gone to more fights this year but have only got to the 2 Dunne fights so far:oops:.

Alexei Acosta tops the bill in Belfast on Friday

Irish boxing has arguably never had it so good and now Cuban Alexei Acosta hopes to be part of the success.
World junior gold medallist Acosta tops this Friday night’s show at the Holiday Inn, run by east Belfast man Alan Wilton, in a WBA international bantamweight title clash with England’s Sean Hughes.
The unbeaten 21-year-old from Havana is now based in Belfast with coach Tony Dunop at the Kronk gym, bringing back memories of Barney Eastwood’s gym in the 1990s when Panama’s Victor Cordoba and Crisanto Espana of Venezuela became firm favourites with local fight fans on the way to World title success.
Acosta, whose brother and sister still live in Cuba, said: “I’m loving it in Belfast and I hope that I can stay and have many more fights here.
“The people are great. Their humour reminds me of the people of Cuba.”
Acosta is one of three top Cubans managed by Cork man Gary Hyde and Dunlop believes he has the credentials to go all the way to the top.
Dunlop said: “Acosta has a great record. He had about 300 amateur contests and won 280 and he has wins over the current Olympic silver medallist and an Olympic gold medallist.
“Gary Hyde has been very good to him, he has invtested a lot in him and the other two guys who are also very good prospects.
“It’s a great opportunity for myself, to be able to work with someone of this ability and I think the Belfast fans are in for a real treat this Friday night.
“We’ve seen in the past how the Belfast fans have got behind the likes of Cordoba and Espana and I hope they do the same with Acosta.”
The supporting bill will feature promoter Wilton’s son Luke, who enjoyed his best performance on the recent Odyssey show.
Also on the bill will be Niall Diamond making his debut.
Meanwhile, Amir Khan’s conqueror Breidis Prescott will be back in England on December 5 when he clashes with British super-featherweight champion Kevin Mitchell.
    Acosta tickets: 07880 926596.
