Whats left on the Brian Peters deal with RTE for live boxing? His shows this year have been good be it Dunne , Lee or Macklin I just hope him and RTE are still around for a few years more in the boxing in Ireland. I think it will be a hard job to get Macklin over to fight next year. Lee maybe will box a fight in Limerick , McCluskey is tied up with Sky. Dunne is in a bit of a win or bust situation when he comes back. Duddy back for a fight would be nice as well. The 4 big names of Irish boxing I was hoping that Peters would try and put some other Irish boxers on joint cards and build them up. Would love to see more of Lindsey I dont know how he is fixed with Hayemaker and a TV deal but if I was Peters I would be keeping a eye on that. Then again Peters may end up looking for Fury if Hennessy cant get a TV deal for his fighters. I hope next year he does another Pro-am event like for the Dunne world title that was the highlight of this year the best night in Irish boxing this year.

There was a twinkle in Andy Lee's eyes when he said he heard Pavliks people had MSG booked for Paddys Weekend.

I think Pavlik still has too much for Macklin but Macklin is streets ahead of your boy Lee.

That may be a possibility but Arum wanted it at MSG for a paddys day special to get bums in seats and get the Irish contingent. That wouldn't happen in Mexico.

So come on people am I the only one who thought Murray was terrible last night. I thought the other lad was very unlucky to lose.

Ah I know we like to be up for our boys and try and only see the good but he ate a lot of stupid shots, could avoid getting hit way too much and couldn't get his own work off against a 4-6-1 fighter.

If that was him fighting away from home on an undercard he would have lost. It would have been 58-56 the other way. He got the hometown call because its in his backyard and hes the 'known' fighter out of the two lads since he was EU champ.

By the look of it he will really struggle to step up to EBU level

I think Murray was rushed back too soon. If Peters is pinning his promotions on him in the longterm future he has to up his game compared to last nights preformace. He has a lot of hard work to do to get up to the standard needed. Thats why I mention Lindsey in another post he could well be the 1 Peters puts money at as he is only 2-3 fights away from a world title fight. There are some highly talented boxers out there that could well make Peters money. It will be interesting to see who is on Peters first card of 2010 in the main event and who out of the promising young fighters will be on the cards. Going by RTE they seemed to have liked Hyland from last nights fight so could this lead to more Hyland fights on the undercards or could the Hylands do some sort of bill on RTE in 2010.

i only seen from round 3 onwards and imo i thought murray did enough to win each one.....although the last round was close.i think a 58-57 was the right score...bone is one of the best journeymen ive seen.i dont know if id even call him a journeyman after that gutsy performance. i thought paul hyland was excellent...thoughts on him? he seems to be improving.
