Thought I'd let the Irish boys know that there's thread titled "Khan V Spadafora" on here somewhere and I just posted some of ***an's fight with Spadafora, where osin is unlucky to get the better of a split decision with the former world champ. I also posted that famous spar between Spaddy and Mayweather where Spaddy kicks Mayweathers ass. I think ***an would have gone the distance with Khan if he didnt break his leg- problly wouldnt have beaten him though- Khan's too fast, as i think he'd be for Spadafora too.

And my point is.He most likely considers himself British too.
If the interviewer asked him immidiately after he said he feels Irish "Do you feel British too?" im guessing he would almost certainly have said yes.

He didnt have any problem fighting for British titles did he?
You can consider yourself more than one nationality.

Hes a British person who is proud of his Irish ancestry.

Just back from Westport and the Irish-English contest. Great wins for Coughlan(over Amer Khan's brother) Moylette and John Sweeney. And Kenny Egan looked superb in his win over fellow Dubliner Fitzpatrick.

I would like to see El Canelo come down to light welterweight to fight Khan cant see it happening but if it did I think he would put Khan in a coma.

After yesterdays budget I wonder how many of the amaturs will turn pro. Everything got cut the only thing they didn't touch the smokes and a plus they dropped the vat on the beer at least theres some plus points.

Those are assumptions that may turn out to be true. Either way I don't really care.

The British Title example works both ways and isnt a barometer of someones nationality, in my view. My earlier point of 'no one having the right to impose their nationality on someone else' is in agreeance with your final point of 'you can consider yourself more than one nationality' - I know many people who do that and fair play to them - it is their perogative.:good

Its amazing how the higher these boxers climb the rankings (macklin, mccloskey) the more there nationality comes under scrutiny. The main difference in my opinion between us calling macklin irish and the brits calling him 'british' is that they only want to call him a brit cause he's improving and looks **** hot at the moment (see the comments on the macklin article and some are even saying "ye can claim tyson fury we don't want him", "tyson fury is irish cause he's **** haha" or something to that effect) where as irish boxing fans follow our boxers good bad or indifferent.

Macklin a Irish mother and Irish father is more Irish than he is british even if he was born in England. Irish blood both sides. Yes the British will class him British when he does well like they do with any of the golfers. At the time Harrington won the majors they were trying to claim him. They done the same with Clarke as well and no doubt about it when McIlroy wins a major he will be British and thats how fickle they are when they do **** they are Irish win something and there British. It makes you laugh. They will turn on them just as quick.

Macklin is dual nationality in my eyes, he can choose either if he wants..... but if you want to see how fickle macklin can be watch what he says after he beats pirog to become pavliks mandortory in england.......
