I havn't seen Macklin fight fra, but he seems the goods on what I read. The ****ing poms are claiming him as theirs tho mate.
I was making a joke based on the names. I was replying to a Mike. I know the history of the area well. I graduated high school with Kelly's father. My best friend growing up was a Finnerty. He had 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Is that enough to qualify his parents a 'good' Irish Catholics or were they a few short? Probably all they could afford on a fireman's salary. The steel mills made Youngstown one of those 'melting pot' areas in more ways than one.
well to be fair...although his parents are Irish...he has lived in birmingham his whole life...he has recieved a lot coverage down the years on sky tv...so he is a familar face to the british boxing fan....saying all that he entered the ring last night with an Irish tri-colour and they played the soldier's song for him...macklin must consider himself irish
The brits are saying he's playing the irish for the bucks? Hey, my parents are irish, I was born in NZ atsch how come the ****ing poms never claimed me? ok ok, I wouldn't let them in :bart :yep me da's family still run a dairy farm in Limerick. AND I drink Guinness or Murphys when its available. funny, some irish lose interest in blow ins?
So the irish accepted him on his parents base. My passport says i'm an irish citizen as well, I'm proud of that, thats why I train under the Shamrock! :good
its clear by some of the people...who post on this thread...that being irish is more than being born in ireland...its much more than that...and your an example of what i mean....
Cheers fra. Before I went to school I told everyone I am irish. Reading irish history and drinking Guinness made it absolute. :smoke I have 6 sons. Paddy, Mike, Seamus, Regan and Kieran. The other one got named after Floyd Patterson.
Thanks, I'm a big fan of the pink panther.I always thought he should have done more with his career!!!
Hello lads, I was browsing through ticket master, and I noticed they are advertising tickets for a proposed Andy Lee contest in Limerick on April 26th.I dont know if this promotion will materialise, after his defeat on Friday, but as I said their advertising it anyway.:huh
Sorry, no offense intended sir. I wondered if Pavlik could be part Irish too with his first name being Kelly? Do you think the Pavliks will stay in Youngstown now that KP is a very wealthy man at this point? Boom Boom Mancini - I believe lives in southern California and is currently involved in the movie industry.
