I think Matthew Macklin has a British title fight with Wayne Elcock lined up.

    Have you seen Elcock fight?

Whether or not you have, you are correct in your prediction.

The fact that he trains with McGirt worries me though - he was much more suited to Billy Graham......

I would like Macklin vs Barker as a fight.

One aggressive, skilled puncher vs a boxer......

Macklin is only saying he is Irish so he can cash in on American stupidity the way Duddy has, he is English really...

Macklin is as English as me.

    About 1/16 Irish.

your maybe right there but its up to him what nationality he is. his parents afterall are irish. so its his choice and its not for me or you to decide it for him.

your being a bit naive to think that. as boxing is a buisness and the british title opens a direct door to european and world honours, and besides he has fought for the irish title also. either way i like macklin and if he chooses to declare himself british, he will still have my full support

i think naivity started when we began talking about Macklin as Irish simply because he wants to cash in on America...

relax mate, if he looks on himself as irish[and i dont know if he does] then get over it. are you so insecure in your national identy, that you take it as a slur on england, that certain people born in your country look to the country of their forefathers or parents in macklin case as their homeland.
