Sure he destroyed Andrade in the rematch, but the rest of his opponents have been poor, Brinkley and Miranda had lost every time they'd stepped up in class.

Until he beats a world class opponent (either again or for the first time depending on your opinion) I remain unconvinced.

 

Thats exactly how I see it.

If McCloskey can catch Khan with one of those corkscrew uppercuts on the inside then we could see Khan running down ***** Street to catch the last train to Discombobulation Central.

Hard to make a case for any of the three but it forced, 1. Rigo is still a novice pro and may not be able to handle the no-holds-barred Casey, 2. Bute underestimates Magee and Magee's ringcraft (hittin & holdin, low blows, headbutts) unhinges Bute and opens him up, 3. Khan walks onto a one, and keeps walking on to them.

Good promotion can get anyone to number 3 in a division. He's got there by beating guys ranked about 14/15 in and around his division. Until he actually steps up in class it's hard to tell. He does seem to be getting better but maybe his opponents are just getting worse. I don't think he'd beat either Froch or Ward at the moment though.

 

that's a good point, interesting to see what Casey and Magee will get away with, especially Casey, it'll be a very partisan crowd in the city west and the ref will be under a lot of pressure

I'll go with Casey. Simply because I think McCloskey and Magee are going to be slaughtered. Rigo could give another Cordoba-like performance where he doesn't really do enough. The other two haven't got a hope. IMO.

 

Mcloskey. I'll be shocked if Casey wins.

As for Magee I think he's up against it. He should be outpunched and outboxed by Bute but if he somehow gets the better of the champ (by out hustling him, roughing him up) look for him to suffer from a bogus dq or hometown decision. There's absolutely no way they'll let him take the belt back too Ireland. Far too much money riding on Bute.
