Will he be able to regain his former glory that he had in 1986-1989. Will he leave AJ, Wilder and Fury in a heap of blood and sweat in the center of the ring being counted out by the referee? George Foreman is against said comeback. This content is protected
He isn't going to fight those guys. If he fights anyone at all, it will be McCall or Holyfield. McCall and his people realized some time ago that he wasn't going to make any money fighting nobodies in Hobbs, New Mexico, and that there is no way of working his way to a big money fight with a top guy. They started talking to Holyfield a while back. The money is in fighting another old guy, and the risk is much lower. With Tyson and Toney and the rest involved, everyone has a chance to get a couple paychecks.
Holyfield nor Toney can spare to lose any more brain cells. It is difficult to listen to their impaired speech as it is. They should absolutely not be getting in the ring ever again.
Holyfield would still wreck AJ, Fury and Wilder. Come at him, bro! Holyfield will perform like this is 1990 all over again.
from what I have read hes only having exhibitions - i hope thats true. Im a Mike fanboy, but lets be honest, his style is a young mans style, and boxing is a young mans game, I hope to god he just keeps it at exhibitions
Really don't like this hole thing of old greats getting back in the ring in there 50's Nigel Ben was talking about it as well. Nothing to prove they have done that!! Must be hard letting it go after massive careers but would hate to see a death in the ring
With Mike's style - it takes alot of energy out of you and causes immense wear and tear on the knees and joints being that explosive - he would have probably started to decline around 26-28 anyway even if he stayed with Rooney. He would have probably surpassed Marciano's record or come very close before realising his time was up.
That's not really how the aging process works after twenty years but bet you're bookie f##king loves you man
