Iron Mike Tyson vs Earnie Shavers, prime for prime. 15 rounds.

I love Shavers, but I have Tyson bombing Shavers out in the first round, maybe it lasts a bit longer idk, but I have Tyson winning the fight on a fast TKO. Shavers might be able to catch him with a big shot and win the fight, but I favor Tyson A LOT!

 

Oy gevalt...Earnie might make it out of round 1. Mike takes him out in 2.

Of course, if Earnie lands flush, bye-bye Mike.

I wouldn't bet on Earnie though...nuh-uh.

Style makes fights and Tyson style is bad against Ernie!
Ernie would kill him in the clinch because when Tyson got close he would just hug and then Ernie would use his old trick holding Tyson head with left while landed uppercut on him!

Better defense. Better hand speed. Better chin.

2-3 rounds tops. Tyson's defense and hand speed make it so he won't get hit by more than a few glancing blows and his chin was good enough to survive a bomb or 2. The acorn is cracked like it fell from a plane and goes down twice before its waved off with the ref seeing Shavers' jelly legs.

 

I think this could easily be a scheduled 4 rounder.

 

Tyson was a better puncher by a good margin. He put his power together better in combinations. Tyson was quicker than Shavers.
The rest or Ernie's game is rather pedestrian other than power.

 

Although I think Shavers definitely hit harder than Tyson, that was his only advantage. Tyson had superior speed, superior stamina, superior chin, superior footwork, body movement, and combinations. When Shavers was committed to throwing a carefully timed punch (like in Holmes II, Lyle, and Mercado), his precision was perfect. But most of the time, Tyson was a more accurate puncher than Shavers.

 

That's exactly what made it easy for me to make up my mind. If Quarry could do it in one, Tyson could do it in one.

 

Marciano would beat himate because like Quarry Marciano knew all inside tricks while Tyson is bad on inside fighting!
