6:45 in. "For 2 years Calzaghe has chased pound for pound number one Roy Jones, but to no avail".

    Hopkins blatant duck:

The Mitchell bout headlined a Showtime event on US TV, and the dramatic action left the American money men promising to put up the cash to get Calzaghe in a career-defining clash.
"We have to get Joe to America and the right fight is Bernard Hopkins," said Showtime boxing chief Jay Larkin.
"Hopkins turned down a lot of money from us to fight Calzaghe last year, but after what Joe did to Mitchell we can up the ante and offer more."

What a pair of disgraceful duckers.

While Zaggers was patiently destroying opponent after opponent in his division, these two were feasting on Welterweights and/or police officers, barmen, and sanitation workers.

    Hopkins = Ducking Welterweight-feaster.

Jones = Glass Jawed trinket-collecting fraud.

Calzaghe fought only bums and old men.

Hopkins definately did. Don't know if they attempted to make a Jones fight, though I heard Joe call him out a couple times.

That sure is "irrefutable proof", noone other than Calzaghe himself said Jones ducked him... That's at least as reliable as "I did not have sex with that woman, Monica Lewinski", "I did not rematch him, because I knew I would win anyway" and "It's 100% clear on this pictures that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction". :good

On the other hand I do believe RJJ ducked him, but not because Joe said so.

So Hopkins ducked Calzaghe near his prime just so he could fight him past prime at the age of 43. Makes perfect sense.:patsch

Calzaghe was a nobody on the world stage at the time, when Calzaghe proved himself against Lacy and Kessler and became well respected and a more lucrative match up Hopkins was happy to take on Calzaghe at the age of 43.

Well, a bloated shot old Calzaghe with crippling injuries exposed prime Hopkins and near Prime RJJ.

RJJ ducked Benn and Eubank, and every European except that bum Woods, because Benn, Eubank and Calzaghe would have KO'ed him very quickly. The Ring magazine and stupid public swayed by biased media never wanted to see those fights knowing RJJ would be exposed.

We see it today with Mayweather, he ducks everyone and picks up scraps or old people, while avoiding the real challenges.

Hopkins also has a glass jaw, we need to examine what Pascal did to him, remebering Froch took flush shots from Pascal all night long in their encounter.

When Hopkins and Jones were on top they didn't want to risk fighting him. When Joe was on top and they had nothing to lose is when they came crawling to him looking for a payday and opportunity to beat an elite fighter.

Well thats how boxing works. Why would any elite fighter fight a relatively unknown fighter that would add little to his legacy when later on that fight could be more lucrative and add more to their legacy. Fact is both Jones and Hopkins were looking for bigger fights than just a WBO title holder like Calzaghe at the time.

Calzaghe has done the very same thing himself. Freeman Barr was the WBO mandatory for almost 2 whole years and never got a shot to fight for the WBO title, as Calzaghe was clearly looking for better fights that would have earned him more recognition and financial gain. Yet you don't see anyone on this forum accusing Calzaghe of ducking his mandatory for 2 years, because we all know the nobody could give a damn about Calzaghe fighting Freeman Barr.

hopkins turned down £3m to fight calzaghe in the us so he could sit out of boxing for nearly a year then fight hakkar for peanuts. it may not make sense...but it is what he did. :deal
