    I haven't got an agenda.

    I always tell the truth.

Joe was a great fighter. Find a post of mine where I've said otherwise.

    He was a class act.

I watched him since I left school just before he fought Eubank. I can remember most of his fights and even the build ups to them. I'm not hating on him, I'm just telling the truth. I know he had lots of personal issues and some horrible injuries with his back and his hands etc. But he wasn't ambitious. Maybe if he hadn't have had those injuries, maybe he'd have been more confident. I don't know. But saying he wasn't ambitious isn't a criticism. Eubank wasn't ambitious. There's nothing wrong with it. But I'm going to call you out on it if you say that he was.

The opposite is true actually. He murdered himself to make 168. Here he claims a move up to 175 would happen in the next year cos he can't make the weight anymore. That was in 1998. He wouldn't move up for another 10 years. Listen to the walk -in.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrKzeg7yrZ8

He starved himself to remain at 168 fighting bottom feeders cos he had no interest whatsoever in facing any of the top dogs at 175. That was the more lucrative division to be in by far.

How many times is loudon going to say "mate" to hide his agenda
Loudon there was another former Smw you defend who said something along the lines of there is always movement and other challenges that come up. Remember this non ambitious fighter agreed to go to America to face Hopkins and maybe with Hopkins mentioning going to smw at that time might have thought he was going to get that fight?

Yet another 5-star meritoriously phenomenal post from Team Elite's HEADBANGER, a poster at the peak of his mercurial powers. :happy There's absolutely no way BlizzyBlizz can hope to recover from this total humiliation. He has been consigned to failure. Stick a fork in him - he's done. :deal:rofl

Having said that, I have a sneaking suspicion that Anglosaxon may come along to batter him further, such is his sadistic streak when it comes to flagellating enfeebled forumites. :fight:beat

Strange that you believe him when he says he struggles to make weight but don't believe him when he says he did want to fight the bigger names.

The fact that he was able to make weight and be so successful suggests to me that he was a SMW and that that was his best weight.

He did struggle and he didn't want the bigger names.

His career proved that. If he wanted the marquee names , why did he stay fighting nobodies for 10 years?

Lying about your intentions to take on better fighters is common practice.

Nobody lies about being unable to make weight:patsch

What frank says should probably be taken with a pinch of salt.

That doesn't mean 175 was his best fighting weight. 168 was his best fighting weight imo based on his attributes.

Because having a title makes you a more attractive proposition. Also because one of their man big fight targets was Hopkins.

That's just silly. Who you fight depends on the options available at the time. If he turned down a good offer for a bigger fight to fight those two, then you would have a point.

Just that you often seem to say Calzaghe should have moved up sooner whereas you seem to defend Golovkin staying at 160 fighting weak opposition.

He threw a record high number of punches against Jones JR at 175.

His performance , conditioning and stamina was better than it ever had been. He said himself that he felt stronger and healthier at the weight.

3g is at mw, an established division, with more than one title and one of them a major one.

joe was in the unknown unwanted smw division, with unwanted belt

there is no double standard except yours..

Because he was unable to get those marquee names obviously. Apparently he made offers to guys and was turned down.

Based on what? Plus he did fight Eubank and he did fight Lacy and he did fight Kessler and he did fight Hopkins.

But he did make weight therefore was not unable to make weight.

You have to weigh that up (no pun intended) against the fact that he would have been at more of a disadvantage in terms of height, reach and power at 175.

Imo 168 was a better compromise in terms of height, reach, power, speed and stamina.

Unable because he never tried. Remind me when he went to to LHW during those 10 years:huh

He waited till Roy was shot to bits before taking the risk.

in the actual event he faced a guy originally from LMW and a guy from MW. once they were turning/turned 40something, no less.

no pun at all, just plain ol cowardzaghe excuses.
