Irrefutable proof that Dawson was weight drained and had been KO'd in sparring.

Fair point, he's getting better with each fight. He's such a well rounded fighter, I don't see him losing in his prime, he could well finish his career undefeated. Right now I don't see anyone beating him from 168-175. Has he now run out of opponents? I'd still like to see a rematch with Froch or Kessler in Nottingham or Denmark

Agreed......let's see if Ward is willing to move up to Dawson's division to see if he can best his dominant performance against Chad at 168.

Isn't it the same thing that ODLH wanted to fight Pac at 147lbs?

Does anybody on this thread believe Dawson could've beat Ward at any weight?

On his best day Dawson would come out second best

I really do hope it's the last time we see him pulling this drainage stunt and hopefully he stops milking it in Oakland.

We'll never know, because 168lb Dawson is clearly not the same guy who fights at 175lb, obviously Ward UD is the logical outcome but KO? no chance.

If Scully was a decent trainer he would of realized Chad had no chance and canceled the fight. Not only was Dawson weight drained, the preparation was flat out poor.

Scully's strategy was for Chad to establish the jab and catch Ward coming in. Dawson is 6'3 with a 5-inch reach advantage, Scully didn't teach Dawson to use his height and reach, nor use any foot movement to create distance. He wanted Dawson to fight in the pocket with Ward. Can you believe that? And you wonder why Dawson was getting hit by every punch Ward threw.

You watch Chad with previous trainers, Chad was always using foot movement to create distance, he had a left hand. Under Scully Dawson can no longer throw the left cross correctly, he made Dawson fight in this weird shoulder-roll stance so that everytime Dawson shoots the straight left he is out of position. I noticed that in the Hopkins fight.

Dawson was at his best with Floyd Sr. It's no coincidence his skills started to decay once he left Floyd Sr. Steward is probably Dawson's second best option. Chad is a type of boxer who needs a trainer that can discipline someone like Steward or Floyd Sr.

Chad in 2007 was a beast. Chad in 2007 can maybe beat Ward.

I think Ward would beat Chad at any weight, drained or not Dawson isn't as good a fighter as Ward IMO.

Kind of like Jones over Toney, but not as extreme of course, the weight certainly hurt Chad more than it did Toney.

If it wouldve been so easy for Ward at any weight, the fight should have been at 75 where if Ward won he'd have won the lineal LHW titles along with a **** ton of glory, and had he lost his 68 titles would have been safe and sound.

All that said, if it's true about Chad not paying his "temporary employees" that is some bull**** of the highest order.

It was Ward that made Dawson impotent. Just as Mayweather reduced a great fighter like Marquez to a heavy bag.

As much as I like to admire a fighter for testing his limits, I have to wonder why one would push himself this far. I'm pretty sure Dawson could have made the same 600k rematching Pascal in Montreal, a fight he would likely win.

Ward accepted his challenge, and put on a great show. I can't knock him for that.
