i have been reading at 140 hatton beats mayweather cotto and oscar if he can come down.

but he loses to them at 147.

This is mainly based on the fact that Ricky's one fight at 147 is arguably the most controversial of his entire career.

Collazos performance i think is very underestimated and he is given little credit with all the blame bring on hatton for fighting ****, although he did look considerably worse at 147.

I think at 147 ricky is not the little powerhouse he is at 140 as the bodies get bigger and the power steps up a notch ricky loses his advantage.
He was also much much slower....but than again Collazo was very good that night...

with all that said, Ricky is brilliant at 140 and has little experience at 147 for an accurate reading of his ability at that weight to be made.
but i think he would have a better advantage against any fighter at 140 than 147 because it is his natural fighting weight.

i think the fight with collazo had to do with how good collazo was and not hatton, hatton said he didn't have the power at 147 because he could not hurt collazo but the hard hitting mosley could not hurt him bad either, it shows how good collazo really is

I think its a combination of Collazo being far better than people give him credit for, his style being the worst possible for Hatton, and Hatton not fully training for 147. Given the proper training he would be more effective, but he's too short and stocky for 147 as a general rule.

collazo was very underrated, he wasn't a top 10 welter, everyone thought hatton would blow him out, but collazo proved wrong, give collazo his credit, hatton didn't perform ****, collazo was just a good fighter.

Due to his frame & stature I dont think Hatton can take the power & style up to 147 & use it as effectively as he does at 140.....That being said a more gradual build up to the weight may produce a better finished product than the short build up time he had for collazo........As has already been said though...I think collazo is underated & was very good on the night with a style that was very awkward for Hatton...........As I said at the time Ricky was very lucky to win that fight........That knockdown saved him imo.........

Yes it was mate.............That coupled with his style made him a nightmare opponent for Ricky....

If he stayed in shape now and built up from there be might cope better than if he competely blew up, might build more effecient muscle or something.

I doubt Kayes approves of Hatton blowing up between fights, he just has to be a yes man in those times.

    Very different!

Hatton relies mostly on pressure, bullying, rubbing and smearing techniques. Therefore he has to be physically at least on par to beat anyone good.

He does not have a great skillset that will allow him to move up the divisions.

Hatton simply isn't that big. To make the weight he has to put on manafactured muscle. He is only 5'6 with 20 inch arms. Hatton just hasn't been one to kill himself to make 135 then go into 140 then go into 147 later. Yeah he could call himself a 3 weight fighter but he wouldn't perform how he'd want.

Feeling right is very important for Hatton. It's why he trains like he does, for as long as he does and it always culminating in one weight.

Hatton against Castillo still only put on 9 pounds! Same for Urango.

give collazo credit, hatton didn't have a hard time because he wasn't properly prepared, collazo was just a handful.

Hatton has 1 fight at 147. Not enough evidence to make a determination.
