That doesn’t mean you should go to prison ....lol
Hopkins started as a young kid, prison is where he figured out he needed to take it seriously, if I recall correctly
Damn it. I was going make that joke. You set yourself up perfectly there.
The version of the story I heard was that some guy in prison taught him how to box ...( another inmate) ...and they would basically just spar ...even though they weren’t in the same weight division
Of course you can become a pro
Personally I would hold onto every single brain cell you have.
However, if you do choose to pursue it, best of luck and give it your all!
Kid...you arent gonna get answers to any of those questions here...only you can answer them by making it happen or not.
Success wont be in turning pro...it'll be in competing in something u love, enjoying it,setting goals and seeing where it takes you......
I can see youdoing very well and going far.
16 is no age .
U could become a world champion.why not? I cant think of any reason
Or u could be like me...i had a mixed amateur career quite extended with gaps...i lost as much as i won...but the discipline and fitness of boxing ive carried all my life......that"s a world title too in a way.
Or you might be somewhere in the middle
....now get your $5 dollar arse off the computer and give me 5...
5 laps around clapham common....and dont be cutting corners either!
Im glad you said that! The kid mightve had a bright idea
Is that the one where marvin rolled under a car to avoid the beating?
Hopkins talked about it on Beyond the Glory. He boxed as a kid, then when he got locked up, he started boxing again and got the passion for it back. The prisoner he boxed with was Smokey Wilson.
I don’t think Qawi or Liston had any formal boxing experience before getting locked up. Just street fights.
I think he's answered his own question if he'll only listen to himself!.
I'm 19 and I would like to become a boxer, but it probably wouldn't be a reality for at least two or three more years.
For that matter neither did Ron Lyle or James Scott.
I'm gonna let you in on a little secret Will, I'm 19 as well . I'm also looking to become a pro boxer.
Swag, somehow you don't kid well. I think you're joking.
