    It's historic.
Let's see if Wilder can do it.
    Or Fury.
They need to master the art of getting beaten up and losing by quitting to an obese 12-1 underdog to really start to prove their worth. Once they have that out of the way they can prepare themselves for greatness as "Two time" champs.

Ali lost to Spinks, then win rematch to be three time heavyweight champion, so yes it’s been a thing for a very long time.

Frankly the manner in which the AJ fan club is behaving after his Wladimir type performance against a fat plodder Ruiz is highly embarrassing

The first fight just revealed how bad AJ's chin is and how well advised he will be to stay away from Wilder. He is not going to outbox Fury either

yeah, that was a bit of a joke as well.
Some people even suspect he lost to Spinks on purpose to engineer the historic third title win, but I don't think so.
he was definitely more happy to fight Spinks twice than have to fight Ken Norton again for a 4th time, which was what was mandated had he beaten Spinks on the first attempt.

Ali was 36 years old and shot to pieces by then, to be fair.

It's lame but in the same ball park as introducing yourself as the 'lineal' champion all the time after all the **** Fury pulled.

Seems silly to be in the history books for losing to a fat guy and beating him in the rematch. It's more impressive to not have that asterisk.

Ali would've lost to Norton again. Norton beat Ali every time before that in all honesty.
