I know many things come in to factor like the frame of someones body and so on and so on but im kind of looking for an estimation. Bernard was a big middleweight and so is Pavlik but i believe there are the exception. I mean Hagler wasnt that tall and he is one of the best middleweights of all time. Just wanted to know in an estimate, whats the lowest and highest a person standing 5'9 could perform at.
No,if you know how to use it in your advantage it can be useful.Diaconu is 5'9 and is a light heavyweight
For real he is 5'9? damn he is fighting pretty heavy. i guess its to difficult to tell as its different for everyone.
He is listed as such sometimes but i think he's at least 5'10 and maybe 5'11. Roy jones is usually listed as 5'11 and i don't believe he's really taller than Toney. Which is somewhat beside the point of the thread of course, the point is if a guy of his height can be that effective at HW then it proves the point that short fighters can be effective using their shortness to their benefit. Mike Tyson is another good example.
If you have skills 5'9 is fine. James Toney is 5'9 and effective at heavyweight....plus he was a dominant middleweight and SMW champion.
I always think of Diaconu and Toney when i hear height vs weight thread, and i think your still safe at 160(presuming your not a pro fighter, that would be 165 for amateur.) But eventually, when you move pro i suggest you go down to 154. Theres one thing for sure - 5'9 and fighting over the MW class, your gonna fight guys who are 6'0 and more all the time, and that can be annoying.
people think i weight 150 atleast. and are shocked when i tell them im at 125 lol. got wide shoulders and look a lot bigger than i am.
was 129 before dinner last night and 132 afterwards. i drink a lot of water tho. and have a very fast metabolism i pretty much walk around comfortably between 125-130
