I hope you're not including me in that, I thought my two posts were fairly reasonable. I do have my doubts over who Mayweather will fight after JMM though. I could see him facing the loser of the Pac v Cotto fight and the winner of the potential Khan v Hatton fight.

No I'm not including you in that.

Doubt he will fight the loser of the Pac/Cotto fight, he will get a lot of crap for picking the loser. He already said that he's aiming for Mosley or Pacquiao next, whoever they can negotiate with best.

He won't. To those who mentioned it I say why would he fight the loser? If it comes down to who is willing to make more concessions to make the fight happen then I think Mosley is the more likely bout than Pacman should PBF beat JMM.

It depends on who the fighter is, if it's a p4p fighter in a good close fight it could set up even more big fights and if Mayweather can avenge a loss against a great fighter it will do tons for his legacy.

Why would it be good or bad? Any other fighter it might matter, but if a guy beats PBF he is the better man. Mayweather has NEVER come into a fight looking unprepared or unfocused. At worst, he didn't come 100% healthy. So any man that beats him has beaten the best Mayweather has to offer. So for a fighter of Mayweather's class, IMHO, a loss wouldn't be good or bad. It would be just what it was... a loss. Many fighters you can say, it was an off night in the event of a loss. Mayweather ain't one of them.

Also, Mayweather ain't the type that people would "like" after being humbled. They would just be happy he lost. It would not boost his numbers. Honestly, people tune in to see "The Villain" lose. Not win. After he loses, it is about "The Hero". His core fans will be there though.

    * It would be a hell of a rematch scenario though!

A very good assessment; it's the reason fighters like Ali and Eubank shot to fame so quickly as well. To quote Ali 'people will pay a lot of money to see someone shut you up'.

A loss to Cotto or Williams would be best.

Losing to Marquez,Pac or Mosley would be bad.

As long as he reacts well and comes back stronger it would make his legacy that much greater.

Sadly, losing and coming back is greater than never losing at all.

    Totally spot on.

I think this is the big misconception about Floys. People think the Bravado is because he is scared. I agree with the above. He thinks he's the best to ever lace up a pair of gloves so he dismisses opponets from the get. To him its about which guy he chooses to beat to get him the money/fame/exposure.

For example Marg. He showed how he would beat Marg when he beat Baldo. Marg is a better boxer but speed and skill kills anyway. But why fight Marg when you can have more money and beat the previous champ before you in Zab. Yeh Baldo was the easier fight but at the time what name recognition did he have.

Also, what is with this if a guy loses and comes back it proves he's great.

The biggest pile of nonscence ever.

Dont get me wrong I respect anyone with the mental toughness to come back after suffering a loss.

But to be truly great is to rise to every occassion and never let anyone beat. Thats why being undefeated is so rare./

right now I/m not even referring to the likes of PBF, Calzaghe coz you question their legacy.

I'm talking about the concept. You should never be ashamed to lose because for most of us it happens but surely being perfect and never letting your game slip is the true pinnacle.

I think it would be bad for boxing since people buy his ppv just hoping he gets ktfo, after this one loss it might take the curiosity away, i mean he is boring as hell to watch!!!1
