Not even a Pac lover but I really don't see a big problem in Pac gaining 10 lbs and schooling Winky. Great defense, but like Calzaghe's style, your gameplan goes to **** when you are being swarmed the whole fight.

Winky's no ATG, imho far from it. 154 and 160 is weak right now though and Winky IS a HOF type probably, so yes he would be the king at those weights if he were fighting today.

Then you would have to favor PW over Winky as well. It's not enough to just throw punches at Winky, you have to actually land them. He's going to be busting you up between shots. Maybe Pac could do it, I've learned not to put anything past him.

Seeing as PW annihilated him, even though it was past his prime, I really don't see a problem with that. It's also easy to look at Williams now and say no chance. Winky was very good but he had some very close fights, which should say something.

I'd favor Martinez over him, nobody else though.

Winky was a beast in his hey day.

Winky's timing was off, williams was slipping a lot of his shots which was very unusual as Winky is normally very accurate. Even after being old and inactive, Winky still held Williams to 20 something percent connect rate. Thats like 800 punches blocked.

Pac would not have the size to trouble winky. You say gain 10 pounds, that means he enters the ring at 154. His speed and stamina will be hindered and he'll still be giving away 10-15 pounds and not against some scrub, against one of the most skillful lightmiddleweights in history.

Good point, but gaining weight has not been a problem for Pacquiao. Even is he doesn't trouble Winky, he would be the aggressor for the whole fight, earning a UD.

People should give what williams did to winky more credit. It seems popular to discredit PW based off his recent lackluster performances , but I find it hard to imagine PW losing to any version of Winky.

Winky being older and coming off a long layoff may not of been at his best when they fought, but PW's agressive high volume style is still a nightmare for him and his high guard defense under any condition imo.

Even a bit sharper and more accurate, winky doesn't have the power to dissuade him so PW will stubbornly trudge forward throwing punches from all angles to reach his 1000 punch quota landing some and end up outworking him again.

I don't think winky was that shot in the fight with williams. He didnt look too bad. In his prime he wouldn't be so stationary, but I think his high guard defense would still limit his offensive output against such an active fighter as williams giving him an opening to win rounds on volume alone.

Williams gets as much credit as he deserves for that fight.

Winky was prime from about 97-04 at lmw. He was still very good when he beat tito and taylor at 160 infact he was arguably the best mw in the world at this point.

But when he fought williams he was a long way removed from what he once was. Mosley, tito, hopkins, taylor they'll all go down as greater than williams in history. Now I know styles make fights but imo williams style aint particularly troubleful. I mean what's his top 5 victories? Margo, phillips, a loss to martinez, winky, quintana?

He is a fighter with huge flaws defensively which are boosted by an iron chin and awesome stamina. But there's nothing to suggest he has what it takes to beat a prime winky cleanly.

This is actually a falsehood you know. Prime pac has usually and consistently weighed within the 135-145 region on fight night.

The weight difference when he beat a shot margo was significant and he claimed he could really feel his shots.

A prime winky has more than enough pop to send pac into a retreat. If pac continued to press the attack he'd get stopped late on mos def.

Yeah prime now. Pacquiao was still a beast back when he was 120. Sure he lost, but he was a younger fighter. He weighs more now, can make bigger fights, which makes him more mainstream. That is not a falsehood, it sounds like you just disagree with me.

I would sure as hell hope Pacquiao would feel Margos shots. He is one of the top welters/super in the world. The bigger you get, the more power there is both ways, naturally. Pacquiao would realize that and if he couldn't hurt Winky, he'd comfortably try to outbox him.
