It looks as though it could be and i'm gonna give credit where credit is due Broner doesn't appear to be ducking anyone and i'm sure that the Burns fight will eventually get made if both sides can agree but in the mean time this is a good solid fight for Broner and Abril is a tricky dude so it could be close.

Interesting fight right there. Very curious to see how Broner can do with a crafty boxer like Abril. This is a chance for Abril to demonstrate he belongs with the top fighters.

Abril did well smothering Rios' shots and frustrating him by giving him angles, can this work against Broner?

Broner has been fighting mainly forward coming aggressive fighters, will Abrils more defensive, hit and clinch style give Broner problems?

Good assessment my brother. If this fight gets made then Abril has a great chance here. Abril is very tall ( 5'11 ) for 135 pounds and he is an extremely intelligent and tricky man ( just ask Rios ). Not only that but Abril can also punch whenever he chooses to. Broner " should " win but I wouldn't be surprised at all if Abril pulls the upset! The question is: Will Abril get the decision this time ???

    :huh

Anyone hating on broner needs to get a grip.

At sfw he chased a fight with burns but never got it. i suppose he could have gone for Uchiyama but he went the mandatory root instead before growing too big.

At LW he is fighting the two best in a row.

(sorry ib i know you have a thing for Vazquez but i have him below broner, abril, burns and de Marco.)

Yeah, that's is the question. Richard Schafer has big plans with Broner see's him as a potential cash cow. Very interesting fight here.

It really pisses me off that Abril doesn't have that WBA strap.

A unification is what the division needs.

Ese Cubanito Abril facilmente le puede ganar a Broner. Broner is slick but Abril is way taller and just as slick. Abril is very underrated, this tall and lanky kid is a headache for everyone. Plus he also has over 200+ amateur bouts back in Cuba. Also, Abril would be "very motivated and hungry" after his highway robbery against Rios and would want to make a statement! Very dangerous fight for Broner. Let's not let Broner's fame and undefeated record blind us, this Abril is a tough cookie.

Broner " the problem " would have a " tough problem " on his hands.

    Saludos Compay!

    :good

real boxing fans don't care if someones a bit of spoiler, whats fair is fair. happy for Abril and I think he'll put in a good account of himself while losing by competitive UD, one of the most difficult style match ups for Broner from 135-140. Props to him for taking a high risk-low reward opponent, if he KO's Abril that would be a statement.

I agree, props should be given. Abril is not the fighter most want to deal with. I don't think Abril has ever been down? I know he's never been KOed. So that would be big undeniable statement, if Broner could put him down. Vasquez, Rios, Gamboa... will all feel that statement.
