I remember we've had other boxers who just had this aura of intimidation surrounding them of "most feared man in and outside the ring" and Adonis Stevenson has it for real. He reminds me of Ike Ibeabuchi or Edwin Valero with his intimidation factor and I think most fighters will lose before they even step in the ring with him. I think Dawson was intimidated from the start and lost the fight for the same reason many of Mike Tysons opponents got blown out, or Edwin Valero. It's something in Adonis Stevensons eyes, build, and the fact that he looks like he's built to destroy a human being physically and psychologically. Just look at him and his confidence entering the ring and compare it to how Dawson looked. Dawson looked a bit shook from before the opening bell and seemed to fight backing up which allowed Adonis to unload his power shot.
There is a reason no one wants to fight him. He has that crazed look in his eyes that Edwin Valero had. I honestly think the reason no one wanted to fight him is because everyone is scared of him. He takes hearts and souls in the ring, he doesn't just beat guys up.
The reason no one wanted to fight him was because he wasn't relevant. He hadn't beaten anyone of note. Now that he has a belt and a name on his resume he can start getting the fights he wants made. Who had he beat before Dawson to make his name relevant? Hell... he was ranked something like 9th at 168. It's not classed as avoiding when fighting someone gains you nothing. Neither in terms of ranking or money etc.
Keep believing that. Bellew doesn't have awful punch resistance like Adonis. Stevenson was stopped by a journeyman with little power.
Im not the biggest Bellew fan, but he beats and stops Adonis Stevenson. But Stevenson could and maybe will hurt him a few times.
