For the record, I don't support more Diaconu threads. :D I don't hate him or love him either.

I think the more threads are made about Diaconu, the more people will start to dislike him. He hasn't accomplished anything yet and people will want to see him get his ass beat just to see the hype stop. Dawson TKO2 Diaconu.

:nono You LOVE to hate Diaconu! Go on, admit it!:D

The only posters who dislike Diaconu the more threads are started about him are kg0208 and yourself!:bart But since you two were against him from the start, it doesn't much matter...:D

Also...I cannot wait to read your thoughts about Diaconu's supposed mental weakness, so I couldn't help myself in starting this thread!:good

(Two random threads about Diaconu were started by posters unknown to me...you cannot blame me for those, huki!:verysad )

I don't hate Diaconu at all. I hate people trying to downplay Dawson, who has acocmplished more and shown far more skill at this point, to uplift the reputation of Diaconu. It isn't necessary. How many threads are there about Diaconu that don't have "glass chinned Dawson" in them?

People who downplay Dawson's elite skills - physical and instinctive, particularly, are silly...I am not sure whether his mental and moral skills are elite or just very good yet...I have no reason to believe that Diaconu has ANY elite skills and the only reason why people should be thinking Diaconu has a chance is because he will try to take advantage of Dawson's supposed less than very good chin, even if he gets stopped in the process.

You know better than me that punchers who have one impressive fight, albeit against modest opposition, who wasn't fired up for the fight in the first place, in a small ring too, are easily hyped out of this world!

To be honest, the only reason why I partake in these threads is for amusement and to inform interested parties, because I happen to know a bit about what is going on with Diaconu, because I read about him in the Romanian press...

I do agree that I sometimes use Diaconu (and Dawson) as the butt of jokes, which will not be apreciated by the casual ESB poster...it should be taken as a reflection of my realisation that the hype over Diaconu has reached absurd stratospheric heights and of my amusement at the whole soap-opera involving these two fighters and their hard-core cliche-using, nuthugging supporters.

Even more impressive is that so much hype has been created about this fight on ESB despite the fact that the two fighters have talked no trash at all about each other! :-(

I actually wasn't referring to you though. Paulie, Real Izm, etc are the guys who constantly talk about Dawson being weak chinned. He has been down, but nothing showing us that he is easily stopped. Reminds me quite a bit of how Trinidad would go down and get right back up and continue fighting. They also like to point out how great Diaconu's power is, and say Dawson hits like a girl despite Dawson's higher KO ratio. I think Diaconu hits harder, but not excessively, and has a harder time landing his punches than Dawson does due to height and foot and hand speed. I rarely say anything negative about Diaconu, just that I think Dawson beats him and that Diaconu hasn't proven anything yet to warrant the hype. If he destroys Dawson, sure, then we can talk.

How would you explain such an unlikely event though?

I would explain it by suggesting that he intimidated Dawson from the start, going at him like crazy and not allowing him to settle, making him lose his nerve through his wreckless aggession and taking shots to make sure he lands his own against that supposedly less than very good chin.:think

    (I know you

The explanation would be that Diaconu is better at applying his style than I thought he was. I have a good idea of what Dawson is capable of because he has fought at least 2 above average to top level opponents. Diaconu beating Hoye isn't as clear an indicator of his abilities currently as Dawson's defeat of Adamek.

It would be props to Diaconu and my mistake.

To me, if Diaconu won, it would say a lot about his heart and mental strength but a lot more about Dawson't weaknesses, which I think he is very well suited to exploit, if they are really there, despite his limitations. If Dawson beat Diaconu, I would be more impressed with Dawson than I would be impressed with Diaconu, if he beat Dawson...despite the difference in class.

...and this is why this fight is more interesting to me, as a Dawson and Diaconu fan...despite the difference in class. Ideally, one of two things would happen:

    1. Dawson would outbox Diaconu all night and stop him just by boxing, after taking a couple of hard, flush shots from Diaconu, without going down. This would prove Dawson can handle pressure and has no problems with his chin; all good for elite p4p prospect Dawson!

    2. Diaconu would hit him hard from the get-go and drop him a couple of times (not just once, by KO). This would prove Dawson cannot handle pressure and that he can be stopped by accummulation hard-shots, too, not just by a one-punch KO; big problem for Dawson - might have to fight slower, older have-been NAMES for money. Would aslo prove Diaconu has some guts and mental strength...but nothing much else...

Anything in the middle, still unclear, I wouldn't be so happy with.:good

It appears your plan to find Huki has worked......
Huki I hope when your hero Dawson gets slaughtered you man up on here and admit you love him....
Back to topic Diaconu is very strong mentally, focuses on crushing and spilling the blood of his opponent and does so with frightening ferocity and accuracy....nothing will change this when Dawson steps in the ring with The Shark....Dawson will be nothing more than just another victim....

WOW! Diaconu is Superman! What a guy!

So, atfer he crushed Dawson with "frightening ferocity and accuracy", is there anyone who could stop him from taking over the world? You are suggesting Dawson is an average boxer with a **** skill or that Diaconu will become undisputed LHW Champ within a year or so...which one is it?

Bute would be KOed by Diaconu? Would Kessler, too?
