Yank hype job at its finest

Malignaggi exposed him to the entire world and they still don't want to say he's a supreme hype job till this day! Till this day!!!

Issue is, he was already exposed twice before the Malignaggi fight, and even then he needed the Maidana beating before most caught up.
2013 to 2014 clearly showed that when you keep hyping guys up, and give them gifts whenever they make it the distance being somewhat competitive, fans will see you as a top fighter/prospect until it's beyond judges' repair.
Case in Point Fernando Guerrero, J'Leon Love and Adrien Broner.

Broner has some in-ring issues that are preventing him from winning more fights. Let's start with his height and weight.

At 5'6", Broner is at best a passable welterweight. He's a little better suited for 140 pounds, but he was a future Hall of Famer at 135. While Broner is a smallish welterweight from a height and length standpoint, he does have a thick neck and head, which explains his extraordinary chin. His lack of discipline in controlling his weight between fights is what led him to move up in weight classes, and of course more money. Next we move onto power...

Only one of Broner's 24 KOs have come at a weight class heavier than 135 pounds. He may have moved up in weight class but his power didn’t get the forwarding address. Broner's style is that of a counter-puncher with power who is capable of hurting opponents with scraping shots. His primary weapons are his counter left hook and a power-straight right hand. Now that those don’t carry the power they used to he should have done what a lot of guys do who moved up but lacked the power, become a more high volume boxer who wears down his opponents. He didn’t. He didn’t want to listen when he was told this.. he didn’t have the discipline to change styles.

    Such a waste.

He made a huge mistake going up to 140+

At LW he had serious power and chin advantage over there, kinda like a Mikey Garcia, at that weight he had the potential to be an Elite. 140+ he’s a decent fighter, just below the top guys.

Broner-Khan at 140 would have been interesting.

He was good enough to beat Antonio DeMarco when many considered him the best LW in the world.

He was good enough to crack the top ten P4P list.

He wasn't good enough to live up to his hype.

to get an accurate read on Broner as a fighter, especially in his youngerdays, you're gonna have to watch his video yourself amd some away with your own or more likely shared conclusions of his career. If you based your entire boxing reputation on Broner, from the higher weights and older years only your're gonna have a savagely bad reputation. Was he an absolute dumb **** that NEEDED serious help multiple times and never seemed to get it in the form he needed? Absolutely. Was he a highly talented and skilled fighter whose physical dimensions made him something of a bogeyman at the lower weights and a lot of the good to very good he has given boxing has been overshadowed by his severe mental health issues and attacks since? Yup.

Honestly kind of sad that he let his weight balloon up because he lacked dedication and ended up becoming a laughing stock. Unfortunately I can kind of see this fate befall Tank and even Spence if they keep up their lifestyle.

As guys have already said.....lacked the dedication needed. Ate himself out his natural weight class and showed how important weight management is nowadays in boxing. Hes not really worth a judgement tbh....only because we never really got the chance to see a broner with the dedication needed for long enough.

What we,ve seen is a guy...thats fighting without the proper dedication needed at that level...hes never really gave himself the chance. Talent or no talent very few guys can jump weights how he tried to...from 130 to 145 in a couple of fights.

Remember watching him fight gavin rees at 135 i think. Gavin was never a world beater but he also wasn,t a mug...he battered him with ease tho. Looked grest doing it as well. Could have been a plsyer at 130/135 with the right dedication. Wssted his talent. All the things that let him down...eg stamina are all pretty much down to his lack of work ethic. He,d be a different fighter with the right work ethic.

Got over by being able to make 130 and 135 and beating up on much smaller men who couldn't hurt him or take his power. This lulled him into to a false sense of security thinking boxing was easy he was better than he was and he didnt have to work on his game. This was fine at 130 and 135 but when he moved up to 147 he started fighting guys that were either naturally his size or bigger and who could take his power he started to get beat.

Very talented fighter, extremely overrated, low ring iq, not very skilled.

    He's very entertaining.

Watching him get battered around the ring has served up some great entertainment.

Overrated bum with a personality disorder

Beat up midgets with 20-25 pound weight gains and got hyped as the next Mayweather despite having a god awful workrate and a fake philly shell.

    Broner lost to:

    Quintero (robbery)
    Ponce De Leon (robbery)
    Maidana
    Garcia
    Porter
    Drew Vargas
Won a close decision against shot to pieces Paulie

Broner is barely a champion & proof belts don't mean squat.

His best wins are over the hill DeMarco and Emmanuel Taylor.

Broner is backed by Freemasons probably explains some of the gifts he’s received.

I just finished watched Maidana vs Broner (including some of the build up, trash talk and weigh in altercation). Seeing that beat down and multiple knockdowns was satisfying.
