Agreed. Not sure who could pull it of at lightweight right now as I'm not high on Vazquez at all. Broner doesn't have particularly impressive movement either on the outside. Stylistically he's more along the lines of a watered-down version of an older Mayweather/a higher-weight James Toney - which is still good enough to be one of the better fighters in the sport in my opinion nowadays, but he's not an uber-skilled/ridiculously complete and versatile practitioner despite having a good degree of technical ability in a number of areas.

You seem to forget Broner has only faced De Marco and PDL as legit opponents. The only reason he is doing so good so far is his level of competition and yes he does look like one of the best at 135 but that is because the level of competition there is so poor. Everyone is now at 140. If he went there we cant really say he would do that well. I picked Guerrero to beat him at 135 but he moved up. Vasquez and Gamboa give him hell at 135.

You realize he lost to PDL who has basically no chin and limited skills. Much improved but limited.

I agree with this one of his weaknesses but no one at 135 can take advantage of it. He makes up for it by walking guys down and his ability to fight on the inside. He's a quality operator but needs to improve his lateral movement.

Lacy catches way too much flak on ESB. The guy was good but got beaten by a p4p rated fighter and then had a career ending shoulder injury that limited him greatly but rather than accept that he gets labelled as a lucky hard hitting can because people hate Calzaghe to the point where they'll do anything to discredit his opponents. He fought enough no hopers that I don't understand why poor old injured Heff has to get shat on to have a go at the welshmans resume.

Prime Lacy ices Bute/90%of current SMW division IMO

Lacy was way more slick than Broner. Broner is a statue compared to Lacy.

Vasquez could definitely do it, and that is a horrible style match up for Broner.

Don't get me wrong, Broner is a tremendous prospect. Great demeanor in the ring. Very charismatic out of it. He just some very noticeable flaws. His lack of upper body movement means his defense is very leaky. DeMarco was landing pretty consistently while Broner beat his ass pillar to post. His stance allows himself to be turned into punches, and his left hook is still wide. All in all, for a guy who hasn't been fighting out of Mayweather's style for very long, he's definitely improving.

his number 6 ranking in the Ring magazine P4P list is shocking and only due to him being American.

His rank is unjustified, and he does receive a lot of hype.. But no.. Not at all.
