What we thinking? Sure many others like me where frustrated with Ola in the first fight. A more aggressive mentality and a few more risks would have got him the decision IMO. Has he learned his lesson from the first fight? He was in sparkling form against Brudov has certainly showed him at his offensive best. How far do people think Huck has come along since the first fight, I think everyone was pretty impressed with his showing against Povetkin. Looking forward to this just as much as Cotto-Mayweather :yep Think a draw is a pretty decent bet on this one.
Was Povetkin that impressive a showing by Huck? He contrived to lose a fight against a slow, past it, stale heavyweight thats spent too long dining out on a win over Eddie Chambers years ago and looked like he was out of gas after 5 rounds. Regardless of the step up in weight Povetkin is so clear gone/not that good that I'm not sure it counts for much, Huck really should have put him away but his weaknesses of throwing 2 punches a round denied him.
Didn't see anyone predicting a Huck win beforehand and it was the same Povetkin we had seen in previous fights :conf Stepping up from crusier to heavy is a massive jump. Huck showed alot in his showing with Povetkin IMO, the difference between the average crusiers that Huck has been defending against and Povetkin is pretty big, regardless of how much you think Povetkin has slipped...thought Hucks jab showed some marked improvement in particular. Anyway, this ain't about Huck v Povetkin......Any thoughts on tomorrows fight?
I think its a tough one to call. I think we know what Huck will show up, I like him and have done for a while now, he always comes to fight. I really think this fight is down to Afolabi; if he has improved as much as he appears to have he'll give Huck some problems. Ultimately its about levels, and Huck is world class, is Afolabi? I going for Huck in late stoppage, with a few hairy moments on the way.:bbb
I don't think Povetkin has a real heavyweight power so the only big factor for Huck is simply the fact Povetkin would have a strength edge, which considering he was out of gas and Huck mostly looked the man with more left throughout the fight it wasn't that much of a big deal. Not like say..fighting a Klitschko. I'm not sure that whether we predicted it or not is here nor there, Povetkin has looked poor recently and backed it up once more yet Huck still managed to lose a close one. Poor quality fight skills wise if entertaining. I think Ola should 'win' but whether he'll actually win is debatable. He needs to simply be aggressive in the fight and he wins, but getting a decision is another matter. He's shown he can hurt Huck but thats an outside chance.
I can see this being really close, sd one way or the other may'be. Gun to my head though I think Afolabi might just have enough to take a decision.
I can only see Afolabi doing better than the first encounter (Which was close but Huck earned it). I realistically cannot see how Huck would do any better than that, personally. He's not improved much at all since that fight from what I've seen, whereas Afolabi is so much more measured, controlled and patient. He's got his head right and is finally using his attributes to the best of his ability. He gave Huck a real good go last time out, and he'll be confident coming into this one as well as a tecnically improved fighter so I think Ola will win by decision.
I'm going to stick my neck out and say Afolabi win. I don't rate Huck that much and I think Ola has come on a lot since their first fight. The judges could be a large obstacle out there, but **** it, Ola to win by a clear decision in most peoples eyes, and an SD in the judges eyes!
As Ola said he had no where to go, he didn't want this fight but had to take it. He lost to the weakest and laziest heavyweight champion. Huck gonna get served up tomorrow night, just hope Ola cleans the plate, wipes mouth and then calls for bill and then leaves cash and a nice tip for waiter. Take him out before judges rob you Ola!.
:good Hope so, I think Ola's mentally a lot different to back then. Also technical adjustments and experience will help.
Will Ola get a decision though, that is the main question that has to be asked. Huck is a big name in Germany and we know there boxers get a lot of decisions. I can see a Huck SD happening personally.
Lebedev beat him like a punchbag and still lost, a shocking robbery fight wasn't even close. So it is a massive worry..
