Is Age 23 "Green" for a fighter?

I have countered every single thing that you have posted.

    Everything.

Yet you haven't replied with anything.

Regarding the rules, I said that a champion cannot dictate to a fellow champion that he cannot weigh-in at the limit, when they both fight in the same division.

The rules are in place for all fighters to adhere to.

    Do you understand that?

The rules are set by the organisations and the commissions, not the fighters.

What Floyd tried to do was illegal. But like the rest of the world, money talks.

It was allowed because all parties eventually agreed to it.

That doesn't make it all okay though.

I have told you on numerous occasions that Canelo and his team reluctantly agreed to it. They wanted the fight at 154 pounds, as per the rules. But Floyd and Ellerbe just refused to fight unless they conceded. So in the end, they conceded in order to make it happen.

Now no true fan should support that.

Two JMW champions fighting a JMW unification fight at a C-W.

    It was disgraceful.

It was allowed because the guy you want to paint as the "victim" here entered the ring weighing 15 pounds more than the other guy.

And everyone knew he'd enter the ring weighing 15 pounds more than the other guy, because the other guy was moving up from welterweight and could barely crack 150, while Canelo usually entered the ring as a super middleweight for his "super welter" defenses.

It was allowed because Canelo had nearly ALL the advantages in the fight - AGE, SIZE, WEIGHT, BEING the WORLD (Ring) Champ) at the division ... and CANELO was all for it.

Are you seriously CRYING about the fact that Canelo only managed to weigh 165 for a 154-pound title defense against a guy who weighed 149?

Do you think Canelo would've won if he could've weighed 167 instead?

Seriously. Nobody cares, including Canelo. That fight MADE Canelo a superstar in the sport. It was the highest grossing PPV in history to that point. The catchweight argument is PATHETIC. Pathetic!

Canelo just said he'd weigh 160 for a super middleweight defense against Crawford, too. EIGHT pounds under the limit. Are you going to **** bricks over that as well?

    Why is he doing that?

He's doing it because Canelo has all the advantages YET again. He has the AGE advantage. He'll have a big weight advantage, yet again, when the bell rings. Because he's the defending world champ. Because Crawford is a 36-year-old welterweight and most 36-year-old welterweights don't move up to a new division and accomplish anything.

And Canelo isn't going to weigh 160 when the bell rings. He'll probably weigh close to 175. Is that heavy enough to beat a 36-year-old welterweight? Or does he need to weigh even more?

Does he need EVERY advantage and not just MOST of the advantages?

    Get over it, already. Christ.

First of all, respond to your own posts before hijacking someone else's.

I'm not painting anybody as a victim.

It's literally you two who's portraying poor little Floyd as being a victim, saying that he was too small to fight at JMW, despite the fact that he'd just fought Cotto there, and that his JMW belt that he'd won was on the line against Canelo.

Yes, we know that Canelo rehydrated by a huge amount.

It still doesn't make it okay for one champ to enforce a C-W against a fellow champ for a unification fight in the same division.

    That is what's pathetic.

That's what Canelo and Oscar tried to do to GGG at MW.

Floyd enforced the C-W, before then telling everybody that he didn't care what Canelo weighed, as 'skills paid the bills'

Floyd is an egomaniac and a walking contradiction.

Nobody is crying. It's just that that sort of behaviour should be condemned.

No, Canelo was NOT all for it, genius. That's the point.

Canelo wanted 154, but Floyd would not allow it. So he was put in a position where he either accepted or he lost the fight. In the end, he accepted. Yes, that was his choice. But that doesn't make it right.

No, he didn't have EVERY advantage.

He didn't have advantages in height or reach.

Again, yes, he was a champion at the weight, but he'd beaten nobody really noteworthy there.

No, I have no issue with a proposed C-W for a Canelo-Crawford fight.

    Why?

Because the circumstances are obviously completely different.

It is not the same as having two champions from the SAME division, where one champion is trying to dictate to the other one and trying to change the rules.

If both parties are happy, then there's no issue.

Again, the point you are missing, is that for the Floyd fight, Canelo wasn't happy.

I'm not portraying anyone as a victim. The title of the thread isn't 'Floyd was shot' when he fought Canelo.

    They fought. Floyd won. Easily.

Canelo had a lot of advantages. He didn't have ALL of them. He had plenty, though. Including a 15-pound weight advantage the night of the fight. (Not the 17-pound advantage you apparently wanted him to have, JUST 15 pounds.)

    And Mayweather won.

Get over it. It was a decade ago.

Canelo lost. He wasn't the better boxer. He never became the better boxer. And he never really became a better puncher, either. The majority of the people Canelo has faced since then have gone the distance with him, too.

Harping on this catchweight is pathetic.

Still nothing about those rules, eh? It's almost as if you have been angry all of this time for no reason and refuse to accept that you don't know the rules of the sport.

    Please stop repeating yourself, brotha.

Depends on the development and experience of the fighter. Salvador Sanchez was 23 when he died. Someone like Tarver didn't make his pro debut until he was about 28.

So loma lost to a green teo Lopez then by your logic. Teo was younger than canelo was when he fought pbf and he had fewer fights to. :deal:

I would agree that it was advantageous to not give Canelo a 20lb weight advantage. Fair enough.

Floyd didn't fight the best version of Clenelo. Just admit that.

The best version IMO of Floyd Mayweather was against Diego Corrales. What was the best version of Canelo?

It helps to know what the best version of Canelo was and who it was against.

Canelo wins a lot, but what was his "best" version, in your opinion? (Since you insist the Mayweather fight wasn't it.)

Was it a KO or a decision win? Was it a clear-cut win or a controversial win? Was it one fight or a period of time?

Was the 152 Clenelo the best version?

I never saw 152-pound Canelo fight. I saw a 165-pound Canelo get in the ring with Mayweather and fight.

Which fight did Canelo enter the ring at 152 pounds?

What fight was Canelo at his best? I just told you who I thought Mayweather was at his best against.

    You're the one doing backbends.

He didn't weigh 152 when he got in the ring and fought Mayweather. He weighed 165. He had a 15-pound weight advantage.

You can't even tell us when Canelo was at his best. Name the fight.

Canelo's got 60 wins. Pick one. When was he at his best? How difficult is this?
