I mean, with all these boxers saying they have knocked him out unconscious in sparring he must be more washed up than James Toney, RJJ and Fernando Vargas all together
I doubt it, since It isn’t uncommon for even the best fighters to get dropped or even knocked out in sparring, but the fighter is supposed to learn and not keep making the same mistakes. That said I’m not crazy about fighters getting into gym wars, since I think fighters should save their durability for when it really matters.
Isn't the whole point of sparring to make any mistakes in that ring rather than on the night ? . Train hard fight easy .
Id rather be the fighter everybody is scared to fight than one of the fighters who is scared. Which seems to be most of the heavyweight division right now. At this moment in time Anthony Joshua is the BOOGEYMAN of the Heavyweight division which is a bit strange as he is also the key holder to being paid the most and being a unified World champion. He would be Undisputed but Wilder is a chicken and refuses to fight him.
Sparring aside, what Ruiz did to him will have permanently affected Joshua for the rest of his life. He lost a piece of his soul on that night, and he will never return the same.
The bodybuilder just needs another beating from Ruiz, then carted back to America, so Deontay can finish him off. Lol.
It says a lot about a guy's sparring partners if they aren't testing him. I rarely go to boxing gyms anymore, but when I used to I've seen PAC, Wilder, Ruiz, and Leo Santa Cruz all get dropped and more than once and I've seen Gassiev and plenty of other fighters get knocked out in sparring before. Its better to get dropped or knocked out in sparring than it is on fight night.
