Sometimes its the only way to learn, since fighters can be very stubborn. Joe Louis going into the fight with Schmelling ignored Blackburn's advice about how good Schmelling was despite Schmelling being considered over the hill. On fight night the beating Louis took got Blackburn's message across. However, I do agree that it shouldn't keep happening, since the fighter should learn from their mistakes. If a fighter gets knocked out and it keeps happening like Amir Khan then that says the fighter is learning from his mistakes.
No disagreements here, but getting knocked out is always a possibility with boxing and some fighters only know how to learn things the hard way.
You cannot train a glass chin...... AJ has one of the worst Ring IQ's in Heavyweight history......that cannot be trained either, he is dumb. Whoever he is facing in the top ten next will be touching that chin and he will fall apart again..........that was not a beating on Saturday, that was a demolition job on AJ's entire Boxing Life........one more time , Ruiz did not do anything special besides trying to win, this was no master class or earth shaking event.......AJ's conduct was poor beyond poor, Ruiz took his soul, spit it out and trampled it..........AJ had the look of total surrender on him, he literally was glad to be stopped. The physiological scars he received are immense......and I dont believe they will ever heal...... WK was beaten like a drum by Brewster.....glass chin or not . he still tried to fire back even defenseless.......AJ never did, he quit on his feet, he did not have it in him to go out on his shield........that is ingrained in him from now on. Now , will he push over some pudding, sure but the moment he steps up he will be put to sleep again.
