No, the one rule in pro boxing is you never quit never you can retire in your corner, but never never quit while action is going on.

Is it just me or have threads bashing Joshua multiplied since Fury's loss to Usyk? Seems like a way for Fury fans to cope.

I do remember feeling embarrassed for Joshua, he'd had an excellent career at that point and this was the first time the Americans got a chance to look at what all the hype was about, and he looked like such a mug, a stiff robotic bodybuilder, looking like a rabbit caught in the headlights and then being all smiley about it afterwards as though getting smashed around by a fat Mexican midget didnt matter.

Furys loss to Ngannou was more cringeworthy...all his ass kissing fans believed Fury was the greatest of all time...and then he got his ass handed to him by someone who had his first pro fight

Nothing embarrassing about getting dropped and beaten up by a top 10 heavyweight (according to @Redbeard7 )

Not ideal but not the most embarrassing, either.

More akin to that of Vitali K quitting against Byrd.

Disappointing and difficult to fathom, but recoverable (at some later time).

Liston-Ali 2 comes to mind. The only way it makes sense is if it was a fix.

Liston gave his account of what happened and seemed believable. The situation was hella confusing.

He did not quit! The referee stopped the fight. When he was knocked down he kept getting up to continue fighting hardly the actions of someone quitting.

Most embarrassing is Luke Tyson Fury being knocked from pillar to post by the man who referred to as ugly, a middleweight etc. Mind you when he got put down by a MMA fighter in Francis Ngannou we saw the writing on the wall.

There's a line between madness (McCall's loss is a sad case of a guy mentally unfit to fight) and someone deciding in the ring, on their feet, that they don't fancy it.

When you take the magnitude of a US debut for a HW money fighter, a packed arena, the start of a decade long campaign, an unknown replacement opponent who looks like a fat plumber, this fight ranks HIGH in terms of embarrassment. This win would've catapulted Joshua into a different stratosphere.

I would argue this is among the top 10 most devastating losses in the history of the sport given how it derailed the "billion dollar" marketing project, and Joshua's lack of a top win in the half decade since.

Yeah, take that one out then.

Yeah it might rank very high on a list of "top most lost money lost by losing the fight list". You should start that thread.
