AJ will likely beat Martin, give the winner of Adamek/Molina a shot, then vacate when Parker becomes mando.

That fight NEEDS time to brew and neither is gonna get to old for it in 3 yrs.:think

Easy win for Joshua. Martin's record is not impressive.

Joshua's other choices for his next opponent were Takam, Stiverne & Jennings, these guys all beat Martin who in my opinion is around the same level as Dilian Whyte, so it's not like it's some massive step up for Joshua, it's only because the title is on the line, Joshua stops him mid rounds.

Yes I'd say he's ready for Martin. Martin barring the fluke win over Glazkov who isn't that good himself is nothing special and probably not even as good as Whyte.

Martin is one of the worst title holders ever which is why Joshua and Hearn see this as an easy way to a title.

The better question would be is Joshua ready for what follows winning a title. It's harder to keep a title than win it. Personally I'd prefer Joshua being brought along at a more measured pace but I can't blame them for jumping at this opportunity.

Yeah he probably is. Martin has more fights and rounds than Joshua but, outside of the shortened Glazkov fight, hasn't really fought better opposition.

Take away the belt and Martin is still at an advanced prospect stage.

Joshua is an excellent looking heavyweight prospect but I think he gets over hyped when people start writing proven guys like Takam, Jennings, Stiverne, etc off against him.

Martin isn't nearly as proven those guys and I think he is too hittable for a puncher like Joshua. Martin could get to Joshua first but I think Joshua beats Martin if they fought now.

The bigger issue with fighting Martin isn't that fight itself its that Joshua, if he won, would have a title and then be forced into fighting top heavyweights sooner than he might have liked too.

I think Joshua should go for it, after he wins the title he could have 3 defences against Chisora,Breazelae and Ruiz then face he's mandatory which looks like it will be either parker or takam some time next year, it wont be too hard

In that kind of scenario I could see Joshua doing well. But once he's a title holder there will be pressure for bigger fights against the likes of Fury and Haye the money for those fights would be hard to pass on, especially if Joshua looks good taking out Martin and whoever he fights in subsequent defences.

But I agree if Martin wants the fight, it's too good an opportunity to pass.

ya but look what wilder has done, going on a year and a half facing cans, Joshua would actually deserve that time given he is younger.

The Haye fight only carry's weight for so long....If Haye announces a semi decent fight for his next outing. I was wondering if Arreola might get the call now he seems to be fading quickly..but saw the failed drug test earlier so probably not. If Haye beats someone decent and then AJ does face Martin that fight could become a massive sell to the non hardcore fans.

IN the pub watching v Whyte loads of people came in just to watch that fight most people didn't even know who Whyte was. They just wanted to see AJ Ko someone. IF he can KO martin the casuals will lap up the sell of it being an all british title fight between two bangers

He's ready to fight Martin, I don't think he's ready for the onslaught that comes after winning.

Of course but I think the plan is to try an keep a hold of a world title after winning it as opposed to learning on the job whilst masquerading as the HW champion of the world.

    This.
AJ is not ready for the aftermath should he defeat Martin.Eddie pays him very well and AJ is better to wait until next year to make his mark.I don't think Eddie will take this very winnable fight-AJ is his meal ticket for the forseeable future and he and AJ want to "milk this cow".

The only reason i see this fight not happening is because of hearn not putting his hands in his pocket.

AJ is ready and martin is very limited and beatable.

fights with stiverne, takam, pulev, ustinov, fury are a lot harder but they are winnable for AJ
