Also people are going to bring up Joyce but Joyce is slow as hell and besides that has improved as a pro. Usyk probably could keep wilder or joshua at bay for 4-5 rounds but a 12 round fight is very very different.
Usyk can win on points but might be robbed still so its hard to say.Dont think that Wilder or Joshua can knockout Usyk with 1 power punch because Usyk has good chin and stamina and is also faster and southpaw too but lacks some power even at CW.And Usyk wont be able to fight on the outside too against so much bigger guys than him. And its not true that AJ will have 50 lbs on Usyk and crap like that.Usyk is like 6`4 tall.He isnt Roy Jones that started his career @ 160 jeez.Already Usyk goes up to 210-215 lbs probably while he fights at Cruiserw.
It's 85/15 in Joshua's favour, with Usyk's only chance being hoping Joshua gasses allowing Usyk to land lots of arm punches which are judged favourably compared to Joshua's much harder shots.
Exactly. I'd pick AJ or wilder to win, but it's crazy to see both sides say "the only way the other fighter wins is by injury or luck". Jeez, give the guy credit if he wins, he'll have earned it.
He's not 6-4" Joshua is 6'5" Against Huck he looked the same or maybe a fraction of an inch taller than povetkin did and Povetkin looks like a ****ing midget next to AJ and Joshua is a lower bodyfat at 254lbs than Usyk is at 200lbs so yes, he does have 50lbs of natural size on Usyk. I don't care if Usyk comes in fat at 230lbs Usyk is a cruiserweight, he doesn't look drained at cruiserweight and he will be a small heavyweight.
AJ's jab would hurt him, let alone anything else and it's not like he's like Haye who had some artillery against bigger fighters. It would require a marathon run that would put BJS to shame for Usyk to even survive let alone win.
Literally no idea until we see Uysk at HW and more importantly the maximum weight he can carny without diminishing the assets which make him so great: movement, speed and output. He will carry more pop at HW, but again, we don't know how much extra until we see it. What we can say is he possess the kryptonite for Joshua's skill-set. AJ has fast hands but slow and cumbersome feet. If he's forced to continually re-set by good movement his power advantage is all-but taken from him, and without that power we're left with a very basic 1-2 boxer on the front foot and a very basic counter puncher on the back. However, will Uysk be as nimble at 16 stone+ ? And could AJ jab abd grab his way to a win? All I do know is I hope we find out one day....
Not sure what the percentage would be but any decent objective poster would have to favor AJ out of respect for rational thought processes.
Objectively, Usyk is clearly a great fighter and astronomically skilled, gifted, and talented. But with his style, ability, and few shortcomings, all I see happening against the world elite SHWs is Cotto-Margo I at HW.
Usyk vs super heavyweights will tell us a lot about how the older great heavyweights might have fared. They were all his size.
