Frampton is fighting on the road? Khan is fighting on a GBP bill. Wilder is fighting Povetkin on a Russian promoter's bill. Martin is fighting on a Matchroom bill. It seems the rumours he's been hemorrhaging money are true. I think he tried to buy a monopoly of the sport and he came close to having all of the major cards for a time but it seems the money is running out. There hasn't been a PBC show yet this year and there isn't one until April.
I remember Billy C predicted this a year ago. Haymon's investors footed the bill last year, and the networks decided they're not this year. This content is protected
There is a rumour that ITV in Britain is trying to bring back the good old days of boxing on terrestrial tv. Hearn with matchroom is on sky,Frank ****** has his own pay Box Nation channel and Hennesy is with channel 5 so the word is Al Haymon might be something to do with ITV. Don't know if its true but there has been people talking? found this link http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2016/feb/22/itv-boxing-british-world-titles-terrestrial-tv
Its a **** deal. ITV won't actually pay for any fights, haymon would just buy TV time like he does in the states. ITV foot the bill on production. Most fights would be on the smaller ITV 2-4 channels also. This isn't gonna be some big resurrection of boxing on UK FTA TV.
I don't really care,i pay for sky and boxnation and will buy PPV Frampton v Quigg tonight. If you work hard why not.
ahhh...another thread where...people root against a guy that gets fighters money and puts boxing on basic cable( im wealthy enough to afford premium ..and im not alone here...but i can tell there are many of you here that probably are too dumb to be able to afford it)
Haymon's plan was good for making boxing more popular and any boxing fans should of hope for him to succeed in that regard, it seems to me anyway. As for the link between money and intelligence, here I was thinking that the example of Thales of Miletus kind of close that debate once and for all many centuries ago. I guess people havent learned yet.
history is full of smart people who were poor..and rich people who were dumb....or smart people who had a run of bad luck....but in the end i think we can make a general assumption that money and intelligence are somewhat related...look at floyd....hes dumb as rocks...but hes brilliant at something
I agree with you in your general assumption. I would give Mayweather exceptionnal kinesthetical intelligence. As for his communicationnal skills and his ability to promote himself, I think it has more to do with the fact that they "fit" into his market, more than being able to sell a freezer to an eskimo. Would that make Adonis Stevenson smart?
Listen I like floyd....he's one of my faves......I know he doesn't have much of an education ......and he may have a learning disability.....but he isn't articulate and I don't think he has a decent grasp of the language ...
