Look at who he fought Let's take those guys one by one OK? Charr - Even Breidis knocked him out and cold! Charr is a garbage as well Wach - garbage punching bag (not even top 20) Hammer - knocked down and RTD against Fury who lacks power in his fists Rudenko - No comment Price - DOUBLE NO COMMENT. AND LET'S NOT FORGET WHEN HE WAS WBA CHAMPION OF THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He defended his title against corpses like washed up Rahman , Wawrzyk and cruiserweight MARCO HUCK who probably even whooped his ass!!!!!!!!!!! He also ducked Klitschko for years !!!!!! He waited very long till Klitschko gets old..... Mr Povetkin aka Godlike resume is causian version of Deontay Wilder. Joshua fought guys like Klitschko and Takam in his 20th fights. Povetkin needed 8 or more years and long amateur experience. JESUS CHRIST
I see the point you're making. Just a few questions: - Which past heavyweight champion boxer was doing better at post age 35, as a high volume pressure fighter against MOSTLY larger sized opponents than Alexander Povetkin? - Which boxer in the last 5 years, that is / was shorter than 6 foot 4, has compiled a better heavyweight boxing record than Alexander Povetkin? - Aren't REAL super heavyweights like Anthony Joshua simply expected to do better than blown up natural cruiser weights like Alexander Povetkin because of a significant size advantage? - Aren't REAL super heavyweights like Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury, simply expected to have greater punching power compared to a blown up cruiser weight like Alexander Povetkin? These things have to be taken into consideration! This is Alexander Povetkin's opponent's sum win:loss ratio in 33 bouts (the combined win:loss ratio of all of Povetkin's opponents up to date in fewer bouts than Wilder) as an example: 913 wins: 255 losses. This is Deontay Wilder's opponent's sum win:loss ratio in 39 bouts (the combined win:loss ratio of all of Wilder's opponents up to date): Total: 687 wins: 406 losses. There is a huge difference in the quality of Wilder's career opponent's and Povetkin's career opponents (based on their records). Yes, Mairis Briedis knocked out Manuel Charr more brutally and quicker than Alexander Povetkin AFTER Alexander Povetkin had already knocked out a previously UN-KO'ed Manuel Charr. And Manuel Charr's punch resistance arguably decreased after he was already knocked out first by Povetkin, which made it easier for Briedis to KO Charr. And Mairis Brieidis is a very powerful puncher with very good boxing skills, that could very well defeat Alexander Povetkin at heavyweight or cruiser weight, since both are practically the same size, despite one competing at cruiser weight now whilst the other at heavyweight. And don't forget, Alexander Povetkin knocked out Mike Perez in 1 round but Mairis Briedis failed to KO Mike Perez in 12 rounds that was coming off a knockout loss to Alexander Povetkin previously. Alexander Povetkin had to literally grind his way to the top with huge physical disadvantages. Something that the likes of Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua aren't disadvantaged by. It's possible that we may never see a boxer that height (below 6 foot 4), and that size (a blown up natural cruiser weight / light heavyweight) ever having as much success as Alexander Povetkin did. Povetkin had to be supremely skilled to make up for his lack of size to have the success he did. Something that the likes of Anthony Joshua obviously don't suffer from Yes, Wladimir Klitschko is obviously the greater heavyweight and Anthony Joshua may go on to also become a much greater heavyweight than Alexander Povetkin. But Povetkin did the best he could possibly do, which was have more success than anybody else did his size at heavyweight. Which is why I respect him a lot! And the fact that you even choose to evaluate him by the same standard as REAL super heavyweights like Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko shows that even you, at least at a subconscious level, think very highly of Povetkin. Can you imagine Andre Ward or Sergey Kovalev gaining 20 / 30 pounds of body fat and then surviving 12 rounds against Wladimir Klitschko at heavyweight? Or against Anthony Joshua? That's the equivalent of what Alexander Povetkin did against Wladimir Klitschko! Truth is, the heavyweights today are way too big in size for small sized boxers like Alexander Povetkin to have much success against. The fact that Povetkin is a top 5 today, despite his very small size and despite being age 38, is a credit to how good of a boxer Alexander Povetkin is. In 5 years time, if you don't ever see a boxer of Povetkin's height and size, having the success that Povetkin had at heavyweight. You may then appreciate how good Povetkin has been. You may also wish that boxers like Povetkin come to heavyweight division again.
He wasted his time because i did not even read that BS. Klitschko and Povetkin will be never on AJ or Fury's level. Joshua is already superstar in his 20th fights Ranked number one ))) Selling arenas ))))))) Fights best avalieble opponens ))) Where were Klitschko or Povetkin when they had 20th fights? Oh oh ... Wladimir was tasting ring canvas against some novice bum called Ross Puritty?
Of course you didn't. It was well written, logically presented, and eloquent. That's why it made no sense to you. Luis is what a genuine top-notch poster should be like. Now, I will leave you and your cave-man style rantings alone. I have a vague suspicion that you won't last long around here if you continue like this. Ps - the streak had some lumps in it that reminded me of your family photo. Nice!
I do not give a **** about Povetkin. He is already grandpa who is useless for hw divion. He should stay fight against bums like Rudenko , Hammer or Wach He stays 5% chance against Joshua. Ortiz actualy stands decent chance against Wilder Povetkin is already done story
Yes, Anthony Joshua after 20 bouts and Tyson Fury after 25 bouts are better than what Wladimir Klitschko was in 25 bouts. However, Wladimir Klitschko after 69 bouts is MUCH MUCH MUCH better than Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua after their first 20 and 25 bouts. How can you disagree with that?
Man replied to you with knowledge, accept it, learn from it. Thank him for the education he's gave you for nothing !
Then why create this thread, and continue bumping this thread if you're not interesting in reading what others have got to offer?
I see Joshua beating already anyone who has Wladimir faced. Joshua will get even better. Joshua is the FUTURE LEGEND
