No heavyweight defeated Ali in his prime. The Frazier and Norton fights
were after his forced lay-off. After his prime. Besides, losing to competition
the caliber of prime Frazier and Norton is nothing to be ashamed of. Those
two were better fighters than the competition most Heavyweights considered ATG faced....
    By a long shot.
Yes h2h he's the best heavyweight in history, and IS the best heavyweight in
history. He defeated at the least 4 heavyweights
considered top 20 heavyweights in history, including (3) in the top 10.
He defeated a greater variety of styles than any heavyweight in history.
His physicality , skills, and toughness is easy to see on film.

Always felt that H2H rankings are sully anf meaningless. But if I was forced to make one, Ali would definetly be one of the canditates for the #1.

I like Ali and Tyson at the top of the H2H mountain.

You could make a strong case for him in my opinion.

Everything in terms of his record, and proven ability to get results in real fights, supports his case.

His resume is exactly what you would expect it to be, if he was all time #1 head to head heavyweight.

Considering the question of the thread, and comparing these results to the other threads, he’s doing really good. Nobody will poll better. As it should be!

I won’t vote yes or no. But I WILL say he has a good case.

I don’t think so tbh, not throwin salt, but I can see Ali having real problems with Lewis, both kilts and fury, very big, very fast, very athletic and great fighters in their own right, he’s definitely top 5,

Lewis the Kilts and Fury are bigger than Ali but in no way fast . The only one who would give Ali a issue would be Fury, that's because of his awkwardness, not his speed.
Big stiff , robotic fighters like Lewis and the Kilts Ali up until around 1974 wouldn't have much of a problem with. All 3 were very predictable. Slow fist and feet no real threat from the left hook or jab is not the recipe for beating Ali in his prime ,or close too it and in shape. Sorry.

To some of you who reckoned Lennox Lewis would beat Ali.
I was sitting next to Lennox when he was being interviewed & someone asked him " Do you think you could have beaten Ali"? Lennox laughed & said " No way that man really was The Greatest he was my idol". Look how he was at Ali's funeral & how proud he was to have been a pall bearer.
What folks forget & the younger ones do not realise is that Ali was robbed of 3 1/2 years of his prime for purely political reasons. He was not even supposed to be training all that time. Just imagine what he would have accomplished had he not been banned all that time. No one comes close to Ali in my book but Lennox was second only to The Greatest
