I was pulling for Miranda when he and Green fought, but I am hopeful that Green makes a strong comeback from his loss and illness. His cockiness doesn't bother me, because just about every pro boxer out there is cocky, and I think coming back from major surgery would be a good story and a heck of an accomplishment. I still might pull for Miranda in a rematch, but I hope that both guys continue to win and build themselves back up.
You think so? This Friday is his third or fourth televised fight in less than a year, even though he lost four months or so to that surgery. I'm sure he made good money on that Miranda fight. Not trying to argue, but what has his management not done that you think they should have done?
but what exactly is his illness ? even before whatever illness he has or had there were things i noticed that would hinder green , the one thing is his chin , i won't go as far to call it weak but i think it is suspect , then notice how whenever green gets really hurt like he did vs donnie mccray he just almost freezes , where other guys when they are hurt either tie up or throw back , green just almost freezes and takes more shots till he's down . green needs to fight smart and not try to trade or show boat because he doesn't have the chin to risk being tagged flush , he has great hand power and is pretty fast too but vs any big puncher theres the chance green will get knocked down or stopped
Green will be hell for any of the top guys at 168, I find him exciting to watch.....will be Champ by next year.
Allen is the real deal. He'll prove that this year. The kids was dealing with a serious colon problem - to where he had about 70% of it removed. This is what he was dealing with during the Miranda fight. Since having surgery - he's been whooping ass. He was scheduled to fight Andre Ward next month - but ESPN wouldn't let him out of his FNF deal. This should be his year.
Hell yea Green is the real deal and anyone who knows boxing would recognize that. Both Green and Anthony Peterson will break out this year and shine. Green > Bute Peterson > Diaz/katsidis
I would like to see Green vs Lacy/Mundine before he steps up for someone like Kessler......He will batter Williams soon....
Ever heard of Joe Mesi? His handlers turned him into one of the biggest draws in the heavyweight division, despite his mediocrity. Study Joe Mesi's career and you will learn all about Boxing Management 101.
Mesi was not one of the biggest draws in the heavyweight division, although he is a huge draw in upstate New York. In terms of popularity, he has advantages that Green doesn't have: He's a heavyweight, he has a huge following in his hometown where boxing is still a popular sport, and he's white. That's not a legit comparison for a supermiddleweight from Oklahoma.

To those of you who don't know, Allan Green has been suffering for a long time and just months ago, he went through a major operation where 80% of his colon was removed.. So everybody who's saying this and that about Green, needs to shut it and give the man a chance.
I think most people on here are in fact giving him a chance - I know I am. i liked him before and I'm rooting for him even more now that he's recovering from major surgery. If it doesnt affect him, i really think he could be champ later this year or next.
thanks shoalin , well im glad allan's ok now , and we'll see how he looks this friday night , he has skills to be a factor . if that fight w/ andre does ever come off i think allan will beat him
