To me he's talented and exciting, but I just wish he would stop fighting so flat footed looking to utilize his power all the time and move his head occasionally. The fact he's always trying to punch hard seems to make him appear slower than he probably is, and more flat footed. Also the lack of head-movement has to be an issue moving foward.

I like Alvarez dont get me wrong, but he does seem too hittable cause he's trying to be too deliberate at times, which kind of makes him appear slower to imo. What I do like about him however is that he puts his combinations together very well. He has excellent variety in the punches he throws, and he can counter punch.

    reminds me of Cottoe

fan favorite who tries very hard to be deliberate. I also think he'll be overrated and fall short on the elite level.

Wouldn't say slow but not fast either.

I agree that he'll fall short at elite level, he'll be a very well milked cashcow before that happens though.

The difference in skill between him and JCC jr is not as large as alot of people think right now.

(I disagree about Cotto, who was a far better prospect IMO.)

seems like he's giving way to the power-game.... he's much better off being a natural boxer-puncher. He looked very thick in the ring and was huffing hard in the 5th round. That wouldnt be bad but.... he doesnt have a high offensive output to make him huff like that...

He needs to take his conditioning more seriously...

Yeah he does seem to fight in spurts. He seems like the kind of fighter who wants to work when HE wants to work. Someone who if you can dictate the tempo to will not look as comfortable.

I dont even think Alvarez is that big a puncher to be honest. To me he looks more of a break you down guy than a brutal puncher. I know he knocked Baldy out, but I tend to think that was an aberration

Why do you spell Cotto's name Cottoe?

A very good boxer puncher with nice movement could give him problems. He doesn't seem unbeatable.

Stiff legged and neck. Should be interesting when and if he steps up in comp with someone punching back.

Not particularly slow, but he isn't fast either

and he's a stiff with no bending skills, pretty much a stationary target who will be in trouble once he fights a decent opponent with mobility and willing to win.

His body moves slow but his hand speed is well above average IMO.
