What is this guys family story? Anyone know? I couldn't help but notice that he doesn't come across as your typical Mexican ethnically.
This has been discussed a lot and nobody on this forum (or any other) seems to know his exact make-up.
Nope, but the red hair is pretty rare among both Spaniards and natives of the American continents (which are the two primary ethnic backgrounds that make up most of the Mexican population - usually in the form of a mixture of the two).
Mexico has so much mixture of a variety of cultures and ethnicities, that you'll eventualy run into a little of everything. But the majority of the pupulation is Mestizo (Spanish and Native ancestry). I have heard rumers of someone in Sauls bloodline as being Irish. But if you see his siblings they are of dark hair and a darker complexion than him. Maybe it's the milkman thats Irish.
Saul looks 100% white. He could be. He still Mexican if he was born in Mexico. Sigh... it's not a race, it's a nationality.
I think he is mixed, there is something about him that isn't pure European either, even though he obviously can pass for white.
Nobody said otherwise, I know he is Mexican nationalistically. It just struck my curiosity because Mexicans are not as diverse racially as say the United States.
You should read about the St. Patricks Batallion in Mexico. It's a good and interesting read. Maybe Alvarez had a relitive that seved? Wiki it.
Canelo ALvarez is Mexican! The state he is from have huge populations of people that can trace their roots to Spain, France, and Basque Country. He is not Irish or French.
My girlfriend doesn't think so. This content is protected She's got a brand new boxer crush, just in time for Sugar Shane's impending retirement.
