I suspect that is why there has been no press conference yet-they are attempting to finalize the Canelo match.
Only person I've heard say it was Mayweather on Saturday night. I'm with fatcity. This fight is what's holding up the press conferences and press tour.
its not confirmed. Canelo is currently threatening Mayweather and probably Shceafer that he'll not fight on May 4 and take another date against another opponent besides Trout. its because Canelos team keep crying about an agreement from Mayweather but they should know better than try to dictate what Floyd does.
seriously. why put a fight against Mayweather AT ALL in jeopardy? if he fights and beats Trout on the same card as Mayweather with Showtime announcers,of course, mentioning over and over about the potential matchup...then the community will put pressure on Mayweather to make the fight happen. even if Floyd fights someone else in September. then Canelo can come in and fight Cotto, and he would probably beat Cotto...making the case for the Mayweather fight to happen even stronger for Alvarez. bottom line is he's been a dumb ass idiot for trying to force a Mayweather fight so soon and its giving good reason for people to believe that he's just flat out scared to fight Trout.
