boxing is underground in america nowadays. americans want to be popular/famous and make alot of money which is why most of us choose bball and football.
Americans only owned the HW division when there pretty much only Americans fighting. Now that boxing is becoming increasingly international, all of America's big athletes are playing American football or basketball. Coincidence?
The population of the USA is around 310 million, there are maybe 3000 players in the NBA and NFL combined. That can't be all of the large athletes America has to offer.
I dont live in America but it seems to me like there is a much better chance of making money in baseball, baskteball or handegg.
Forgot about Scott. He's what 32 y/o. Perfect, like you said, but he's hardly a slick HW like KJ or Fast Eddie. He's gonna really need to increase his power if he's gonna be top dog in the division.:think As for Monsour, he's toast. I don't agree with the reasoning for sending him back upstate, but at 39 y/o he'd still have to win another 3 fights vs high C, or Blevel guys like Fury Arreola or Pulev etc. Plus he's a small HW. Guinn was bullying him around in their fight, but typical of Dominic, he only fought 1 minute of each round and took a few rounds off as well. If he's gonna struggle to beat a lethargic Guinn, how would he fair with a guy like Chauncey or Mitchell.:huh
Can't believe the utter ignorance of people who, for whatever self-serving reason, refuse to acknowledge the impact of other sports on boxing in the US. Young kids just aren't interested in boxing unless it has been forced on them by someone who is in the sport, or introduced as some outlet for troubled youth... You can go to an average middle and high school, and you might get 1 maybe 2 kids in the entire school who can name 5 active boxers (Floyd, Pac, and then you're stuck with a guy from their hometown if they have one) Yes there are only a few thousand NBA and NFL players, but there literally millions of high school and college players who concentrate year-round on one or two sports at the most. And boxing just isn't one of them... The most athletic kids in the school are going to play football or basketball. Period. They aren't going to say "**** football, the cheerleaders, the pep rallies, the college scholarships, and a chance at the pros, and maybe play in the Superbowl.. 'cause I wanna take boxing lessons instead where none of the bitches are ever gonna see me perform because no one watches this sport here anyway" And do you guys really think Eddie Chambers is the most naturally gifted and athletic big guy in the entire US? Seriously...
Why aren't there more international players in the NFL? Cause no one outside of America gives a **** about the sport.
nutnut:nut take steroids away from american boxing and this is what you are left with. boxing is an international sport these days gayboy. more competition + steroid testing = lack of world class american heavyweights :deal
Funny... You take a picture of all the fat guys on a 53-man roster (20 at most) and conveniently leave out a pic of the DB's, RB's, WR's, LB's, DE's, and TE's. Lets me know that you are refusing to acknowledge the truth or are just plain ignorant...
correct, american sport is the laughing stock of the world. the likes of baseball and american football are absolute dog**** sports, played by an ingnorant, narrow minded, insular nation that has the audacity to call the final of the baseball season 'the world series' :rofl
