My guess is that if and when Khan challenges for a world title it will be for a vacant belt. Warren will probably have a big say in the opponent as well.
So you are tipping Ree's to beat Kotelnik? I think Ree's can manage another decision win but it will be tight and maybe an SD. If Ree's does retain his belt he deserves some serious respect, alot more than he his getting now. The guy came out of seemingly nowhere and put in a sensational performance against a very good champion, completing an almost shut out on the scores. Another good win against a very good boxer who gave Witter serious problems in parts will make a a force to be recond with. He is however built for Khan.
One things for certain- it won't be against Ricky Hatton, Juan Diaz or PBF the real world champions at light, light welter and welter. With respect, anyone else is really just a placky champ.
Exactly... his dynamics and style will make it practically impossible to win against a tall and quick fighter like Khan.
So a jump up to Light welter to fight Ree's and then back down to Lightweght when the legitimate threats have gone? 5'3" and with 13 ko out of 27 (I think) looks like a Khan opponent.
Very, very highly... I spotted witter when at just 3-0-1 he beat 23-6-4 andreas Panayi who wasn't half bad ad at the time it was a bit of an upset. The stoppage was a bit controversial but despite getting tagged a couple of times he was well on the way to winning. I remember calling my dad down stairs saying 'have a look at this guy!'. Witter was pitched in tough from day one and he has earned every oppertunity which has come his way... Look at his record. I've watched him from ?Ringside and he's very powerful. I tipped Hatton to beat him pre mayweather. but following the Mayweather, Collazo and Urango performances coupled with the fact that Castillo- Hatton never really got going I'm slightly less confident these days. Witters recent performances have been better but he's been operating at a lower level. your thoughts?
A promised move down that never materialises. I can see the press conference now... 'Sn saying that Khan wants to challenge the best out there so he will move up and challenge rees due to the ease of making the match and then move down and challenge the more dangerous lower weight champions- but it will never Happen. Hopefully Witter -Hatton takes place around December the loser retires.... the winner matches with Khan 2009 if Khan keeps winning... It makes the most financial sense.
:good Thats how I have it to be honest. Khan vs Hatton would be a very good fight and one both would expect to win. Your right it does make financial sense BUT I still do not see it happening. Witter vs either would be a miracle.
My thoughts on Hatton v Witter? Difficult to predict the outcome which is partly what makes it an exciting fight. Witter has certainly raised his game with his KO of Harris and it will be interesting to see how Hatton comes back from his defeat to Mayweather. If you're only as good as your last fight then I'd lean towards Witter but if Hatton is back to his best it won't be that straight forward. I do feel for Witter as his next fight against Hopkins seems to have fallen through and he needs to find a decent replacement to keep the momentum going.
