Its way too early to categorise Khan. The spotlight has been on him too soon. Topping the bills and already being a millionaire is patently ridiculous to real boxing fans who understand that being a true champion is earned in the hardest way ..
The Kindelan fight in Bolton to kickstart Khan's career is the most obvious form of a guy being paid 'to put over' a future star. Kindelan's career was over and Warren said 'Mario, do a job for us', and it was obvious to all boxing fans. The football supporters in the stadium lapped it up but we all knew ....
Since he turned pro, Khan has convinced nobody. I've never seen a guy who has been compared to Leonard and Robinson be dropped by such basic fighters as Limond and Gomez .. No disrespect to these guys because i respect Willie and Michael but they were there to be blown away with Warren smiling on the front row ..
Then an unknown Colombian wipes him out in under a minute just slugging away .. Khan is nothing, he might cherry-pick a title when the time is right but somewere down the line Khan will face a guy who knows what hes doing and then its all over ....

I wouldn't be too quick to judge. Which undisputed champ, who is also on some peoples ATG lists, was knocked down over 20 times in his career and still got up to achieve greatness?

Tell me Ice, im intrigued .. Im guessing this guy had more than Khan though .. Im just not convinced that a guy like Khan who has been given so much so soon has the mental attributes to go into the trenches in a tough fight.
Its an opinion but i could be wrong, time will tell

Do we have to make a definitive pick?

I would like to say both.

Ice im not gonna waste any time searching for your 'mystery' ATG who started out like Khan .. Back yourself and give me the name your thinking of, then we can discuss the similarities ..

Amir Khan has been treated like he is a world champ already and that was the problem. His sparring partners were intimidated because they was facing "amir khan". Whereas him training in freddie's gym has been the perfect choice. Fighters over their don't give a **** who he is..if anything they will be motivated to give him a hard time. We saw his sparring sessions with Pacman to see that Amir has the potential to be a world champion.

His fight with Prescott was to big a jump from his previous opponents. Amir Khan has hardly been hit cleanly on the chin therefore not used to taking punches. I think them sparring sessions with pacman have given him the world of confidence.

Firstly Floyd Patterson had a top defence to protect his admittedly shakey whiskers, and secondly...his chin was nowhere near to Khan's league.

And he was really a smaller man competing with the big boys.

    Horrible comparison.

All of amir khan knockdowns have been due to off-balance apart from the prescott fight which was a clean powerful hit which would KO'd a lot of fighters. Yeh iv seen it..he got rocked by a jab and so on...but you have to rememeber amir khan until that point had never faced anyone with the power and snap that prescott has. When he got jabbed..it was more like "woah..ok..i haven't felt that before" and then the KO took place.

Amir could develop a good defence and in the 3 months with freddie his defence had improved significantly and was evident in his last fight.
