ATG at 168 behind Calzaghe, Jones and Toney imo and in no particular order of the top 2. At LH it’s a definite no.
he certainly has the marks of getting there, looking back I dont know how he acheived what he did when compared to his chasing rivals. -beating kessler whislt green in his first title fight. Kessler was the benchmark for SMW elite, wards rival joe calzaghe took his whole career to acheive this and froch 2 fights (although very arguably the first was a draw in Denmark). - casually handling the next best SMW elite, froch, not to mention the other world class ones. - winning the elite SMW S6 tournie. Only froch comes close with 2nd place, whilst his other rivals kessler and calzaghe fought perhaps 1 elite between them. - equal number of more recognised defences than his closest SMW rival froch, with kessler just behind with recognised defences and joe calzghe chasing with 4 (kess, bika, manfred, lacy). (ignoring Sven cheating ottke of course) - at LHW, smashing the prime elite top dog of LHW Kovie for the unified crown. In comparison the best Kessler could manage was a fake silver LHW title from Allan Green (though smashing him good), and Joe even less with a mere magazine title (and even nearly getting beat toit by a 43 yr man).
A great for his generation, probably top 3 SMW last 30 years. ATG? No, sir. Unless I compile a top 20 SMW. Can't see him top 100 ATG. And I picked him to win the Super Six tourny as a darkhorse. Before it began!
To crouch over is a foul ????? Heck If Kov was stood up straight Ward's barrage would have peppered his knees LOL You just dont have a clue
Imo no not enough depth or longevity. Ward is a quality fighter but outside of super 6 and Kovalev fights he resume is super thin... if he would have had a mini regin at 175 I could see an argument but 2 controversial fights and a few unranked bums, doesn't really cut it.
