Big GGG fan here but I admit Ward is the best p4p fighter in the world right now.I think Ward/Kovalev is a 50/50 and the best fight in boxing today. If Ward beats Kovalev decisively I think you can make a serious argument he's better than Floyd was

I didn't watch the whole fight last night, only the second half and Ward looked like struggled more than he should of and got hit a lot, not an impressive showing to me.

I'm not a fan of Floyd but I recognize talent and Floyd is on another level than Ward. Ward will have hard time with Stevenson and will get ko'd by Kovalev.

Floyd didn't dominate all his fights either. Had very competitive fight with an old Oscar and Maidana. Also many people thought he lost to castillo

Floyd's also a filthy drug cheat. Ward is clean (thus far).

Floyd did lose to Castillo and a case can be made for draws with de la Hoya and maidana

Pbf was a better natural athlete than ward has better reflexes to. Skill is about the same but pbfs athletic ability combined with his skill gives him the edge.

Oscar was at Floyds 5th division no catchweight, Maidana at his 4th and against castillo he supposedly had an injury and dominated the rematch. Ward is at his 2nd weight class barely and even then thats the weight class he fought at in the amateurs if im correct.

Ward is not that impressive. I can think of a handful guys from past era that would beat him. Jones, Hopkins, even prime Winky to name a few. The guy he fought last night could barely put punches together, technically he was terrible, and was slow as hell. His punches looked so awkward. Go and watch jones during his prime vs a bum like the guy last night was, and watch the difference in skill level.
I don't like Floyd, but Ward isn't on the same level. He should have been able to really separate himself from his opponent last night but the opponent, as technically poor and slow as he was, stood right with him the whole fight. Ward got some good shots in but he didn't light this guy's face up like he should've. I just don't see greatness there and was the first fight I've really watched with ward. Kov will probably KO him. Kov will prob lose most of the rounds but eventually Ward will get hurt and that will be it. And I actually like GGG's chances better now vs Ward if they fought at 168.

Mayweather was a cut above at his best than Ward.
