Word out in the Bay is Andre didn't listen when Jim told him to leave that food truck alone, before the telecast. Andre's insistence on scarfing down that "beef" and bean, cost him a whole night's pay and the opportunity to bust up in the post fight interview (Mosely style) and corner GGG into a November showdown.
:deal This. When you have a star in the making, you don't want somebody out of jealousy saying he is not that good!
HBO was not happy about Ward refusing to fight Stevenson at 168. Ward would not even answer him..................when Ward has done Golovkin's fights he only had good things to say about him................Ward also said that Kovalev was too big for him, yeah, Ward used to fight at 175, Ward would have to come up 7 lbs., but expect Golovkin to come up 8 lbs. and lose money with big fights with Cotto, Soliman, Quillin, Murray, etc.? Golovkin wants to also fight Void, and would come down to 154 to fight him, but Void ran like a chicken like he does from Pac..............
Why is Ward running from Stevenson and Kovalev? Ward also said he would easily beat Klitschko, but refused to sign a contract. Klitschko would stop on Ward a crush him like an ant........................ STEVENSON VS. WARD AT 168, WELL, WHERE IS WARD?
Exactly! Ward would have done just that saying he hasn't really fought anyone and he would beat him. Not a smart move to have Ward on the broadcast when they're trying to build GGG up.
You're high back in the Super 6 Ward-Dirrell was the fight I was looking forward to the most. I wanted to see Ward in there against someone who was a better athlete than him and who had the handspeed advantage as well. I think Dirrell would have caused Ward some problems early but Dirrell was too mentally weak IMO to continue to do so for a full 12 rounds.
In a recent interview Ward pretty much said that he believes that Goosen along with other promoters and network execs have sneakily banded together against him and made things difficult behind the scenes. Of course promoters and networks have been doing this to athletes for decades and do it in a way the victim can't take them to court with evidence of their conspiracy. Still, luckily Ward has time on his side. After his present contract expires he will still be a young man and can come back even better than before. Time can cure all.
With Golovkin's team recently saying they will not fight Ward, HBO probably figured they could save the hassle of trying to protect Golovkin's "taking on all comers" reputation by not having Ward ring side to make Golovkin stutter in his post fight interview about.
Seems HBO is going to give him an ultimatum to fight GGG or else......Wouldn't be shocked to see him run off to Showtime like Stevenson did.
Why run from easy money, and that what it would be for #2 P4P Ward. Easy money to beat a Russian nobody. :yep
Ward never works the Championship Boxing cards. Besides that, Ward is too biased when discussing his stablemates or fighters who fight around his division. His commentary in the last Jennings fight was awful, as he is friends with By By. You know he would be bashing GGG and trying to tear him down throughout the telecast.
Perhaps he feels insecure working on HBO fights unless they are in Oakland? Or maybe they wanted him to take a PED test?
